- Phoolan Devi (10 August 1963 – 25 July 2001), popularly known as the “Bandit Queen”, was an Indian dacoit (bandit) and later a politician. After being gang-raped by some upper-caste members of her village, Phoolan Devi turned bandit, and authorised the killing of 22 upper-caste villagers in 1981. Following this, she became notorious across India as a bandit.
- Shabir Sebastian Ahluwalia is an Indian television actor, best known for his roles as Rishi Garewal in the soap opera Kahiin to Hoga and Milind Mishra in the serial Kayamath. He made his debut in Bollywood with Shootout at Lokandwala. His second movie was Mission Istanbul (2008). Shabbir was born on 10 August 1979 in mumbai to a Catholic mother and Punjabi father.
- Malashri (sometimes credited as Malashree) is an Indian actress in the Kannada film industry, known for the dramatic lead roles. She made her debut in the all time Kannada Hit “Nanjundi Kalyana” in 1989. Her portrayal of a haughty, shrewish woman in the movie won her many accolades heralding her as the top actress of Kannada Cinema.
- Sir Lawrence Peel (10 August 1799–1884) was a judge in India, chief justice of Calcutta. Lawrence Peel was third son of Joseph Peel of Bowes Farm, Middlesex, who died in 1821, and Anne, second daughter of Jonathan Haworth of Harcroft, Lancashire. His father was younger brother of the first Sir Robert Peel (1750–1830), and he was thus first cousin of the statesman.

- Padinjarethalakal Cherian Alexander of Mavelikkara, India (20 March 1921 – 10 August 2011) was an Indian politician and civil servant who served as the Governor of Tamil Nadu from 1988 to 1990 and as the Governor of Maharashtra from 1993 to 2002. He was considered as a candidate for the post of the President of India in 2002.
- Premji (born as Mullamangalath Parameshwaran Bhattathiripad on 23 September 1908 – 10 August 1998) was an Indian stage and film actor. Premji was born on 23 September 1908 in a Namboodiri Brahmin family in Vanneri, Malappuram, Kerala. It was a time when Kerala was experiencing a social upraising. The effect of that was visible in Premji’s family and life as well.
- Shirishkumar Mehta(1926 – August 10, 1942) was an Indian freedom fighter, a revolutionary. Mahatma Gandhi started the Quit India movement against the British in 1942. Shirishkumar was leading a procession protesting against the government in Nandurbar. The police had set up barricades at Mangal Bazar area.
- Niel Alexander McDonald Walker (22 August 1895 – 10 August 1960) was a British army officer and a cricketer who played in tournaments in India and for Derbyshire. Walker was born at Poona, Maharashtra, India. At the start of World War I he was at Sandhurst and was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant into the Sherwood Foresters on 12 May 1915.
