- Namitha is an Indian actress, who has appeared in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Hindi and Malayalam films. She was crowned Miss Surat during the year 1998. She was a contestant in the 2001 Miss India pageant.
- Nayantara Sahgal (born 10 May 1927) is an Indian writer in English. Her fiction deals with India’s elite responding to the crises engendered by political change; she was one of the first female Indo-Anglian writers to receive wide recognition.

- Kaifi Azmi (May 10, 2002) was an Indian Urdu poet. He is considered to be one of the greatest Urdu poets of 20th century. Together with Pirzada Qasim, Jon Eliya and many others he participated in many memorable mushairas of 20th century.
- Mohan Makijany (24 April 1938 – 10 May 2010), popularly known as Mac Mohan, was a well-known Indian character actor in Hindi language films. Although, Mac Mohan acted in over 190 films and remained popular as a villain through the 1970s and 1980s with films like Don, Karz, Satte Pe Satta, Zanjeer, Rafoo Chakkar, Shaan and Khoon Pasina, he is mostly remembered for his role of Sambha.

- 1901 Sir Jagdish Chandra Bose, Indian scientist, in the hall of the Royal Society, London, which was packed with eminent scientists today on May 10, 1901 proved that “plants and animal have similar touch sense”.
