  • Tottempudi Gopichand  (born 12 June 1979), more popularly known as Gopichand, is a Telugu film actor. He is the younger son of the filmmaker T. Krishna and started his career with Tholi Valapu as the main lead. He was 8 years old when his father T. Krishna died.
  • Padmini (12 June 1932 – 24 September 2006) was an Indian actress and trained Bharathanatyam dancer who has acted in over 250 Indian films. She has acted in the Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Hindi language films. Padmini along with her elder sister Lalitha.

Death anniversaries on 12th June:

  • Purushottam Laxman Deshpande (8 November 1919 – 12 June 2000) was a Marathi writer from Maharashtra, India. He was popularly known by his initials पु. ल. (“Pu. La.”) or as P. L. Deshpande. Deshpande was also an accomplished film and stage actor, music composer.
  • Jacques Alexandre Bernard Law (February 1, 1768 – June 12, 1828) was a French soldier and diplomat of Scottish descent, and a general officer in the French army during the Napoleonic Wars. He was born in Pondicherry in India, where his father, a nephew of the financier John Law, held a senior position in the colonial regime; his mother was a member of the Carvallho family.

  • 1891-Gandhiji sailed for India and reached in July.
  • 1761: Balaji Baji Rao (Nanasaheb), also known as Nana Saheb Peshwa, died after losing in the battle of Panipat. He had also contributed in the development of Pune. In the Battle of Panipat, he was held responsible for the defeat of the Marathas.
  • 1952: J&K Assembly decided to terminate hereditary monarchy
  • 1990: Indian National Satellite (INSAT-1D) was launched. This was an operational multi-purpose communication and meteorology satellite.
