Wing Commander Rakesh Sharma, AC, Hero of the Soviet Union, (born January 13, 1949) is a former Indian Air Force test pilot who flew aboard Soyuz T-11 as part of the Intercosmos program. Sharma was the first Indian to travel in space. Sharma was born in 1949 in Patiala, Punjab, India in a Hindu gaur Brahmin family and was schooled at St. George’s Grammar School (Hyderabad).
Shivkumar Sharma (born January 13, 1938, Jammu, India) is an Indian Santoor player. The Santoor is a folk instrument from Kashmir and Jammu. Sharma is often referred to by the title Pandit. Born in Jammu to the singer Uma Dutt Sharma. His mother tongue is Dogri. In a 1999 interview to rediff.com, Shivkumar said that his father started teaching him vocals and tabla when he was just five.

Ustad Ahmed Jan Khan “Thirakwa” was an Indian tabla player, commonly considered the preeminent soloist among tabla players of the 20th century, and among the most influential percussionists in the history of Indian Classical Music.He was known for his mastery of the fingering techniques and aesthetic values of various tabla styles, technical virtuosity, formidable stage presence, and soulful musicality. Malhar Sadashiv (M S) “Baburaoji” Parkhe 15 April 1912 – 13 January 1997), was an Indian industrialist from a Maharashtrian Deshastha Brahmin family. Parkhe was known to have a good study of Vedic literature. He was known to be a strong follower of Param Sadguru Shree Gajanan Maharaj of Shivpuri, Akkalkot and believer in his teachings.
