Guru Nanak  (15 April 1469 – 22 September 1539) was the founder of the religion of Sikhism and the first of the ten Sikh Gurus. The Sikhs believe that all subsequent Gurus possessed Guru Nanak’s divinity and religious authority, and were named “Nanak” in the line of succession.
Raghu Ramalingam popularly known as Raghu Ram (born 15 April 1973) is a senior supervising producer at MTV India and the executive producer of reality television shows MTV Roadies and MTV Splitsvilla. Raghu was born an identical-twin in Machilipatnam, Andhra Pradesh, India, and raised in Delhi, India, along with his twin brother, Rajeev Lakshman.
Guru Arjun Dev Ji ( 15 April 1563 – 30 May 1606) is the Fifth of the Ten Guru Ji’ of Sikhism. He was born in Goindval, Punjab, India, the youngest son of Guru Ram Das Sahib Ji and Bibi Bhani Ji, the daughter of Guru Amar Das Sahib Ji.
Mandira Bedi ( born 15 April 1972, is an Indian actress, model and television presenter who gained celebrity status playing the title role in the 1994 television serial, Shanti, shown on India’s national channel, Doordarshan which was the first ever daily soap on Indian television.
Arjan Singh, DFC  (15 April 1919-) is the only officer of the Indian Air Force to be promoted to five-star rank, equal to a Field Marshal, to which he was promoted in 2002. He was born in the Punjab town of Lyallpur, British India, into a Aulakh family.

Amjad Bobby  (died 2005) was an acclaimed Pakistani music composer. He was one of the most talented composers of Urdu music. He was born in Amritsar and is a nephew of well renowned music director Rasheed Attre. His father was also a classical singer and wanted him to be a clerk but he preferred to become a composer.
Captain Ram Singh Thakuri (15 August 1914 – 15 April 2002) was an Indian-Gorkha freedom fighter, musician and the composer of the music of the current band-version of the Indian National Anthem, Jana Gana. He also composed, while serving in the Indian National Army a number of patriotic songs including “Kadam Kadam Badaye Ja…” and “Subh Sukh Chain” Later in life
Narendra Chandra Dutta ( (25 November 1878 – 15 April 1962) was an Indian banker, founder of Comilla Banking Corporation and later the prime mover behind the incorporation of the United Bank of India. Dutta was born to Mahesh Chandra Dutta in Kalikachchha, in the district of Tipperah.
Sambhu Nath De (popularly known as S N De) was born in Hooghly District, West Bengal, India. His father Mr Dasarathi De was a small businessman. Supported by his uncle Asutosh De, De completed the Matriculation examination with distinction that helped him to get the District scholarship as well as to pursue further education in Hooghly Mohsin College

Notable Events:

1658 Raja Jaswant Singh was defeated at Dharmat. He was sent by Shahjahan and Dara Shukoh to resist Aurangzeb’s advance towards Agra.
1895 Bal Gangadhar Tilak inagurated the Shivaji Mahotsav at Raigad Fort.
1919 British troops kill 400 Indians, who were demonstrating against the British rule at Amritsar for the forced marshall law on Punjab.
1942 George VI awards the George Cross to the people of Malta.
