- The President of India, Shri Ram Nath Kovind, laid the foundation stone
of the Nyaya Gram project of the High Court of Allahabad today
(December 16, 2017) in Allahabad. - Freedom of the judiciary is a cornerstone of our democracy.

- Paradox: Citizens have faith in the judiciary & yet common people tend

The President said that training of judicial officers is very important
to improve the efficiency and quality of the lower courts. He noted
that there is a plan to establish a judicial academy on the Nyaya
Gram campus. - He expressed confidence that this judicial academy will make a
significant contribution to the capacity of the lower judiciary in
Uttar Pradesh.

- It discussed about the implementation of e-way Bill system in the
country. - Decision to implement the e-way bill mechanism throughout the country
by June 1 was taken - Goods worth more than D50,000 have to be pre-registered online before
they can be moved from one state to another.

be generated on the GSTN (common portal). - After the implementation of this bill, any movement of goods of more
than Rs 50,000 in value cannot be made by a registered person without
an e-way bill. - When an e-way is generated, a unique e-way bill number (EBN) is
allocated and is available to the supplier, recipient, and the transporter. - An e-way bill can be generated by both registered and unregistered
persons. - However, where a supply is made by an unregistered person to a registered person, the
receiver will have to ensure all the compliances are met as if they were the supplier.

occasion. - A wreath laying ceremony was held at Colaba Military Station in Mumbai
