Mangal Pandey (19 July 1827 – 8 April 1857) was an Indian soldier who played a key part in events immediately preceding the outbreak of the Indian rebellion of 1857. He was a sepoy (sipahi) in the 34th Bengal Native Infantry (BNI) regiment of the British East India Company. While contemporary British opinion denounced him as a traitor and mutineer, Pandey is a hero in modern India.
Gadde Rajendra Prasad (born 19 July 1956), is an Indian film actor, who works predominantly in Telugu cinema. He is one of the method actors in Telugu film industry. In 1991, he has received, Andhra Pradesh state’s Nandi Award for Best Actor for Erra Mandaram.

Harsha Bhogle is the son of A. D. Bhogle, a professor of French, and Shalini Bhogle, a professor of psychology.
Jayant Vishnu Narlikar (born July 19, 1938) is an Indian cosmologist and physicist. Narlikar is a proponent of steady state cosmology. He developed with Sir Fred Hoyle the conformal gravity theory, commonly known as Hoyle–Narlikar theory.
