Subrahmanyan Chandrasekhar,October 19, 1910 – August 21, 1995), was an Indian-American astrophysicist who, with William A. Fowler, won the 1983 Nobel Prize for Physics for key discoveries that led to the currently accepted theory on the later evolutionary stages of massive stars.

Salimuzzaman Siddiqui 19 October 1897 – 14 April 1994), HI, MBE, SI, D.Phil., FPAS, FRS. was a leading Pakistani scientist in Natural Product Chemistry. He is credited for pioneering the isolation of unique chemical compounds from the Neem (Azadirachta indica), Rauwolfia, and various other flora.

In the latter part of her career, she concentrated on Malayalam films. Her brilliant portrayals as a mother in many films were highly acclaimed. Srividya’s personal life was full of tragedies.

K. Raghavan is a Malayalam music composer. Along with Baburaj, Raghavan is often credited for the renaissance of Malayalam film music. K.Raghavan gave a new direction and identity to Malayalam film music.As he searched for the right tune for the lyrics, little did K. Raghavan realize that he was about to compose history.

Mehli Mehta (September 25, 1908 – 19 October 2002) was an Indian conductor and violinist. Mehta was born in Bombay, British India to a Parsi family. His involvement in music stemmed from his birth. As a young violinist his main musical influence and inspiration was Jascha Heifetz. A pioneering figure in the Indian musical world.

Sushila Kerketta (27 April 1939 – 19 October 2009) was a member of the 14th Lok Sabha of India. She represented the Khunti constituency of Jharkhand and was a member of the Indian National Congress (INC) political party. Kerketta married Nottrott Kerketta, and had 3 sons and 2 daughters. Nottrot pre-deceased her. She died of a heart attack on October 19, 2009 at the age of 71.
