Sonam Wangchuk (born 6 September 1966) is an Indian engineer, innovator and education reformist. He is the founding-director of the Students’ Educational and Cultural Movement of Ladakh (SECMOL), which was founded in 1988 by a group of students who had been in his own words, the ‘victims’ of an alien education system foisted on Ladakh.

1-September-1921 Madhav Krishnaji Mantri, right-hand batsman and wicket-keeper, was born at Nasik, Maharashtra. He was the Indian team selector from 1964 to 1968 and was also the team manager in 1990.
1-September-1930 Suhasini Ganguly, freedom fighter, was arrested and send to Hijali Jail for her revolutionary activities. She later lived a low profiled life after release from prison.
