  • Tipu Sultan (November 1750, Devanahalli – 4 May 1799, Seringapatam), also known as the Tiger of Mysore, was the ruler of the Sultanate of Mysore. He was the son of Hyder Ali, at that time an officer in the Mysorean army, and his second wife, Fatima or Fakhr-un-Nissa. He was given a number of honorific titles, and was referred to as Sultan Fateh Ali Khan Shahab, Tipu Saheb etc.
  • Shalini Ajith, also known simply as Shalini, is a South Indian film actress who debuted, at the age of three, in the Malayalam movie Ente Mamattikkuttiyammakku which was produced by Navodaya. She continued to appear in many films as a child actor. After a break of several years, she returned to the industry by appearing in the Malayalam movie Aniyathi Pravu which went on to become a superhit.
  • Rajkumar Hirani (Sindhi:راج ڪمار ھيراڻي)(born 22 November 1962) is a National Award and Filmfare Award winning Indian director, screenwriter and film editor of Hindi films, best known for the films Munna Bhai MBBS (2003), Lage Raho Munnabhai (2006) and 3 Idiots (2009), considered the highest-grossing Hindi film by distributor-share.
  • Shilpa Shirodkar (born 20 November 1969) is an Indian actress who enjoyed a period of popularity in the 1990s. Shilpa is the elder sister of actress and former Miss India Namrata Shirodkar. Shilpa and Namrata started their careers together, but Shilpa started with films and Namrata with modeling; and by the time Namarata became an actress, Shilpa had quit.
  • Sunil Mukhi is an Indian theoretical physicist working in the areas of string theory, quantum field theory and particle physics. He earned a Ph.D. in Theoretical Physics in 1981 from the State University of New York at Stony Brook. After spending two years at the International Centre for Theoretical Physics at Trieste, Italy, he returned to India.
  • Suhasini Mulay is an Indian actress in Bollywood and Marathi films as well as television. She won National Film Award for Best Supporting Actress in 1999, for her performance in Gulzar’s film Hu Tu Tu. Suhasini was born in Patna where she spent the early part of her childhood.

Death anniversaries on 20th November :

  • Hirābai Barodekar (1905 – November 20, 1989) was a renowned Indian Hindustāni classical music singer, of Kirana gharana. She also sang along with her younger sister, Saraswati Rane, whom she also trained, in jugalbandi style. Hirabai was born as Champākali to Kirānā Gharānā master Ustād Abdul Karim Khān and Tārābāi Māne, who belongs to Gomantak Maratha Samaj.
  • Santha Devi (1927 – 20 November 2010), better known by her stage name Kozhikode Santha Devi, was an Indian Malayalam film and stage actress. In a career spanning about sixty years, she acted in more than 1000 plays and about 480 films. Santha Devi was born in Kozhikode in 1927 as the daughter of Thottathil Kannakkuruppu and Karthiyayani Amma as the seventh daughter of their 10 children.
  • Patrick Mullane VC (October 1858 – 20 November 1919) was a recipient of the Victoria Cross, the highest and most prestigious award for gallantry in the face of the enemy that can be awarded to British and Commonwealth forces. He later achieved the rank of regimental sergeant-major. Mullane was born in Ahmednagar, Deccan, India.
  • Agnelo Gustavo Adolfo de Souza (21 January 1869 – 20 November 1927) was a Roman Catholic priest of the Society of Missionaries of St. Francis Xavier who performed missionary work in Goa, India. Padr Agnel, as he is known, was born in his native village of Anjuna to Minguel Arcanjo de Souza and Maria Sinforosa Perpetua Magalhães and died in Rachol.
