- Barun Sobti (born 21 August) is an Indian television actor and model whose career was launched from the STAR Plus television series Shraddha. Sobti is recognized for playing the lead male character, Shravan Jaiswal, in the Sony TV’s serial Baat Hamari Pakki Hai. Since June 2011 he is seen playing the role of Arnav Singh Raizada in STAR Plus’s romantic drama television series.
- Bhumika Chawla (born Rachna Chawla on 22 August 1978) is an Indian actress. She made her film debut in the Telugu film Yuvakudu (2000) and has since then worked in various Indian film industries and appeared in over thirty films in Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Bhojpuri, Punjabi and Malayalam. She is probably best known for her critically acclaimed performances in Kushi, Tere Naam, Missamma, Gandhi.
- Mini Mathur is an Indian actress and television personality. She was a video jockey on MTV India and hosted a couple of shows for the channel. She is also a co-host of the Indian reality singing contest Indian Idol. Mini Mathur currently hosts Bombay Blush, a culture show on India that airs on BBC in the UK. She resides in Mumbai with her husband Kabir Khan, son Vivian and a daughter Sairah.
- Sana Khan is an Indian film actress and model. She is perhaps best known for her appearances in ad films, her item numbers in Indian films and for her performance as Janu in the 2008 Tamil film Silambattam. Sana Khan, whose father is a Malayali-Muslim from Kannur and mother Saeeda is from Mumbai, worked as model at her birth place Mumbai, appearing in more than 30 ad films.

- Ustad Bismillah Khan March 21, 1916 – August 21, 2006) was an Indian shehnai maestro. He was the third classical musician to be awarded the Bharat Ratna (in 2001), the highest civilian honour in India and gained worldwide acclaim for playing the shehnai for more than eight decades.
- Vinoo Mankad (12 April 1917 – 21 August 1978), full name Mulvantrai Himmatlal Mankad, was an Indian cricketer who is best known for his world record setting opening partnership of 413 runs, with Pankaj Roy, in 1956, a record which stood for 52 years. An opening batsman and slow left arm orthodox bowler, he played in 44 Tests for India, and made 2109 runs.
- Qurrat-ul-Ain Haider (January 20, 1928 – August 21, 2007) was an influential Urdu novelist and short story writer, an academic, and a journalist. One of the most outstanding literary names in Urdu literature, she is most known for her magnum opus, Aag Ka Darya (River of Fire), a novel first published in Urdu in 1959, from Lahore, Pakistan, that stretches from the 4th century.
- Pandit Vishnu Digambar Paluskar (August 18, 1872 – August 21, 1931) was a Hindustani musician. He sung the original version of the bhajan Raghupati Raghava Raja Ram. Vishnu Digambar Paluskar was born in Kurundwad, a small town falling under the Deccan division of Bombay Presidency during British rule, presently in Maharashtra.
