  • Aditya Chopra (born 21 May 1971) is an Indian film producer, screenwriter and director. He is most known for directing his only three films Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (1995), Mohabbatein (2000), and Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi (2008). And producing Hum Tum (2004), Veer-Zaara (2004), Bunty Aur Babli (2005), Fanaa (2006), Dhoom 2 (2006), and Chak De! India (2007).
  • Prabhat Ranjan Sarkar (21 May 1921 – 21 October 1990), also known by his spiritual name, Shrii Shrii Anandamurti (Ánandamúrti, as he was called by his early disciples, is a sanscrit word meaning “Bliss personified”), was an Indian philosopher, author, social revolutionary, poet, composer and linguist.
  • Mohanlal Vishwanathan Nair (born 21 May 1960), known mononymously as Mohanlal, is an Indian actor and producer best known for his work in Malayalam cinema. Mohanlal made his acting debut in Thiranottam (1978) but the film was never released due to censorship issues.

  • Rajiv Ratna Gandhi (20 August 1944 – 21 May 1991) was the sixth Prime Minister of India (1984–1989). He took office after his mother’s assassination on 31 October 1984; he himself was assassinated on 21 May 1991. He became the youngest Prime Minister of India when he took office at the age of 40.
  • Major General John Dutton (Johnny) Frost CB, DSO & Bar, MC, DL (31 December 1912 – 21 May 1993) was a British airborne officer best known for being the leader of the small group of airborne forces that actually got to Arnhem bridge during the Battle of Arnhem.

  •  1994- Sushmita Sen became the first Indian to be crowned as Miss Universe.
  • 1855– Rani Rasmoni was consecrated at Bhabatarini Kali Temple of Dakhineswar.
  •  1991- former Prime Minister of India, Rajiv Gandhi, was assassinated by Thenmozhi Rajaratnam aka Dhanu, a suicide bomber, in Sriperumbudur near Chennai.
