  • Shammi Kapoor (Hindi: शम्मी कपूर; born Shamsher Raj Prithviraj Kapoor; 21 October 1931. – 14 August 2011) was an Indian film actor and director. He was a prominent lead actor in Hindi cinema from the late 1950s until the early 1970s and played supportng roles from 1974 to 2011. Shammi Kapoor is hailed as one of the most entertaining lead actors that Hindi cinema has ever produced.
  • Kulbhushan Kharbanda is an Indian actor, who worked in Hindi and Punjabi films, and is known as antagonist Shakaal in Shaan (1980) inspired by the character of Blofeld from James Bond movies. Starting with Delhi-based theatre group Yatrik in the 1960s, he moved to films with Sai Paranjpye’s Jadu Ka Shankh in 1974, he worked several parallel cinema films, before working in mainstream Bollywood.
  • Mukesh (born Mukesh Babu on October 21, 1960) is an Indian film actor and producer known for his work in Malayalam cinema. Mukesh made his debut in the film Baloon (1982). He gained prominence for both his comedy and drama centered roles, in films such as Odaruthammava Aalariyam (1984), Boeing Boeing (1985), Shyama (1986), Adiverukal (1986), Thaniyavarthanam (1987), Sangam (1988) etc.
  • Sangeetha Arvind-Krish (born 21 October 1978) is an Indian film actress, model and female playback singer. Making her acting debut in the mid-90s, she is probably best known for her performances in the films Khadgam, Pithamagan, Uyir and Dhanam. She has worked with A.R.Rahman. Sangeetha was born in Chennai, India to Arvind and Bhanumathy.
  • Farooq Abdullah (Kashmiri: फ़ारूक़ अब्दुल्लाह (Devanagari), فاروق عبدالله (Nastaleeq)), born 21 October 1937 in Soura, Jammu & Kashmir, India), is the son of Sheikh Abdullah, is a doctor of medicine and has served as chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir on several occasions since 1982. He is married to Molly, a nurse of British origin.
  • Kamal Sadanah (born 21 October 1971) is an Indian actor, producer and director. He is the son of producer and director Brij Sadanah. Kamal made his acting debut opposite Kajol in the 1992 film Bekhudi which did not do well at the box office. In 1993, he acted alongside the late Divya Bharti in Rang which was an average grosser. After this, he acted in a string of films which failed to do well.
  • Ashwini Nachappa Kannada: ಅಶ್ವಿನಿ ನಾಚಪ್ಪ (born October 21, 1967) is an accomplished athlete from Karnataka, India. Nachappa gained fame at the turn of the 1980s, when she outran P.T. Usha on two separate occasions. She has since been referred to as India’s FloJo, and in 1990 she received the prestigious Arjuna award.
  • Arun Sarin (Hindi:अरुण सरीन) (born October 21, 1954 in Pachmari, Madhya Pradesh, India) was the CEO of Britain’s Vodafone Group plc. On June 29, 2008, he announced his resignation as CEO of Vodafone Group. He is a senior adviser at the private equity firm KKR. He serves on the board of directors of Cisco Systems, Charles Schwab and Safeway, Inc.
  • Sarandeep Singh  pronunciation (help·info) (born October 21, 1979 in Amritsar) is an Indian cricketer. He is a right-handed batsman and a right-arm offbreak bowler. In his debut Test match he took six wickets in Nagpur. Singh started his career in Amritsar in 1998-1999, playing for Punjab cricket team and before the end of the year, he was playing for the Under-19 squad.

  • Yash Raj Chopra (Hindi: यश चोपड़ा, born 27 September 1932 in Lahore, British India) is an Indian filmmaker, film director, screenwriter, and a highly successful Bollywood producer. Waqt, Deewar, Kabhi Kabhie, Silsila, Lamhe, Chandni, Darr, Dil To Pagal Hai, and Veer-Zaara are some of his highly popular movies. He is the founder of Yash Raj Films.
  • Muthuswami Dikshitar (Tamil:முத்துஸ்வாமி தீக்ஷிதர, Devanagari:मुत्तुस्वामि दीक्षित:, Telugu:ముత్తు స్వామీ దీక్షితులు, Kannada:ಮುತ್ತು ಸ್ವಾಮೀ ದೀಕ್ಷಿತರು, March 24, 1775 – October 21, 1835) is a South Indian poet and composer and is one of the Musical Trinity of Carnatic music.
  • Dattatreya Ramachandra Bendre(Kannada:ದತ್ತಾತ್ರೇಯ ರಾಮಚಂದ್ರ ಬೇಂದ್ರೆ ; Marathi: दत्तात्रेय रामचंद्र बेंद्रे) (31 January 1896 – 21 October 1981) was amongst the most famous of Kannada poets of the Navodaya Period. Praised as varakavi, literally ‘gifted poet’, he was the second person among eight recipients of Jnanpith Award for Kannada, the highest literary honour conferred in India.
  • Prabhat Ranjan Sarkar (21 May 1921 – 21 October 1990), also known by his spiritual name, Shrii Shrii Anandamurti (Ánandamúrti, as he was called by his early disciples, is a sanscrit word meaning “Bliss personified”), was an Indian philosopher, author, social revolutionary, poet, composer and linguist.
  • A. Ayyappan (27 October 1949 – 21 October 2010) was a Malayalam poet in the modernist period. Born in a wealthy goldsmith’s family, in Nemom, Thiruvanathapuram, Kerala, he became a non-conformist member of reading Malayali families. He had a very tragic childhood. His father, Arumukham, died when he was only one year old, perhaps due to poison.

Notable Events: 

  •  1296 -> Alauddin Khalji conquered the throne of Delhi. In July declared himself as the Sultan.
  • 1577 ->Guru Ramdas, Sikh Guru, established Amritsar city.
  • 1906 -> Gandhiji went to England till Nov 30 on deputation to present Indians’ case to Colonial Secretary.
  • 1943 -> Azad Hind Government was established in Singapore and Netaji Subhashchandra Bose was elected as its national leader.
