Womesh Chandra Banerjee or (Umesh Chandra Banerjee) (December 29, 1844 – July 21, 1906) was an Indian politician and the first president of Indian National Congress. One of his grandsons, Joyanto Nath Chaudhuri later on headed the Indian Army. Womesh Chandra Banerjee was born on December 29, 1844 at Calcutta.
Gangubai Hangal (5 March 1913 – 21 July 2009) was an Indian singer of the khyal genre of Hindustani classical music, who was known for her deep and powerful voice. Hangal belonged to the Kirana gharana. Gangubai Hangal was born in Dharwad to Chikkurao Nadiger, an agriculturist and Ambabai, a vocalist of Carnatic music.
Krishnankoil Venkatachalam Mahadevan was a South Indian music composer. K. V. Mahadevan was born in in 1918 at Krishnancoil, Kanyakumari district. A contemporary of M. S. Viswanathan and T. K. Ramamoorthy, Mahadevan scored music for over 600 films, spanning four decades, after starting his career in the 1950s with Avan Amaran.
