  • Himesh Reshammiya (born 23 July 1973) is an Indian music director, singer, actor, television producer, lyricist, film producer, script writer, and distributor. Himesh Reshammiya was born in Mumbai, Maharashtra to veteran Gujarati music director Vipin Reshammiya and Madhu Reshammiya; however his family originate from Bhavnagar, Gujarat. Reshammiya studied at Hill Grange School in Pedder Road.
  • Suriya (born 23 July 1975 as Saravanan Sivakumar) is an Indian film actor, producer, philanthropist and television presenter. He has acted in several Tamil films, including the commercially successful films Nandha (2001), Kaakha Kaakha (2003), Pithamagan (2003), Perazhagan (2004), Ghajini (2005), Vel (2007), Vaaranam Aayiram (2008), Ayan (2009), Singam (2010) and 7aum Arivu (2011).
  • Lokmanya Tilak born as Keshav Bal Gangadhar Tilak((1856-07-23)23 July 1856 – 1 August 1920(1920-08-01), age 64), was an Indian nationalist, teacher, social reformer, lawyer and independence fighter who was the first popular leader of the Indian Independence Movement.
  • Raja Chaudhary is an Indian television actor. Chaudhary played a villain in the Bhojpuri film Saiyyan Hamar Hindustani opposite Shweta Tiwari. He has also acted in the television serials Your Honour, Daddy Samjha Karo, Chandramukhi and Aane Wala Pal. He was featured in a TV serial called Black (loosely based on Hollywood Omen) on 9X Channel, directed by Sunil Agnihotri.

  • Mehmood Ali Khan ( September 1932 – 23 July 2004), popularly known simply as Mehmood  was an Indian actor, director and producer best known for playing comic roles in Hindi films. During his career of more than four decades, he worked in over 300 Hindi films.
  • Captain Manoj Kumar Pandey, PVC (25 June 1975, Sitapur, Uttar Pradesh – 2/3 July 1999, Kashmir),was an officer of the Indian Army of the regiment 1/11 Gurkha Rifles, posthumously awarded the India’s highest military honour, Param Vir Chakra for his audacious courage and leadership during adverse times. He died during the attack on Jubar Top, Khalubar Hills in Batalik Sector, Kargil.
  • Dr. Mohammad Jahangir Khan  (February 1, 1910, Jalandhar, Punjab – July 23, 1988, Lahore) played cricket for India during British rule and after the partition of India served as a cricket administrator in Pakistan afterwards. He graduated from Islamia College, Lahore. Jahangir was a big man who stood six feet and bowled medium pace.
  • Perumal Varadarajulu Naidu (June 4, 1887 – July 23, 1957) was an Indian physician, politician, journalist and Indian independence activist. Varadarajulu Naidu was born in an affluent Balija Naidu family in Rasipuram near Salem on June 4, 1887. His father Perumal Naidu was a rich landlord. He had his early education in Madras and trained as an Ayurvedic physician.

    Notable Events:

  • 1555 – Humayun reconquered Delhi after defeating Sher – Shar Alias Sikandar Suri in Machiwara and Sarhind battles. It is said that he won the crown but not the empire.
  • 1856 – Lokmanya Bal Gangadhar Tilak, scholar, mathematician, philosopher, militant nationalist Indian leader and who helped lay the foundation for India’s independence, was born at Ratnagiri in Maharashtra.
  • 1898 – Tarashankar Bandopadhyay, well known Bangla novelist, was born.
