Anita Mazumdar Desai (born 24 June 1937) is an Indian novelist and Emeritus John E. Burchard Professor of Humanities at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. She has been shortlisted for the Booker Prize three times, was awarded the Sahitya Akademi Award, in 1978 for her novel, Fire on the Mountain, by the Sahitya Akademi, India’s National Academy of Letters.
Kannadasan (24 June 1927 – 17 October 1981) was a Tamil poet and lyricist, heralded as one of the greatest and most important writers in the Tamil language. Frequently called Kaviarasu (English: King of Poets), Kannadasan was most familiar for his song lyrics in Tamil films and contributed around 5000 lyrics besides 6000 poems and 232 books, including novels, epics, plays, etc.

Sanjukta Panigrahi (24 August 1944 – 24 June 1997) was a dancer of India, who was the foremost exponent of Indian classical dance Odissi. Sanjukta was the first Oriya girl to embrace this ancient classical dance at an early age and ensure its grand revival. In recognition of her contribution to dancing and associated activities.
Shri Digvijay Singh (14 November 1955 – 24 June 2010) was an Indian politician from the state of Bihar and was an Independent Member of the Parliament of India representing Banka in the Lok Sabha, the lower house of the Indian Parliament. He died on 24 June 2010 in London after suffering a brain haemorrhage. Digvijay Singh served as a Member of the Parliament of India five time.
Mallikarjuna Rao is a popular Comedy Actor in Tollywood. Mallikarjuna Rao, popularly known as Battala Satti for his role in the movie Ladies Tailor. He has acted in many movies in Telugu , Tamil and Malayalam Languages. He died of cancer on June 24, 2008 in Hyderabad. The death came very swiftly while he was conducting some important functions for the Telugu Desam.
Nawab Sadiq Hussain Qureshi (July 25, 1927 – 24 June 2000) was a Pakistani politician who served as both Governor and Chief Minister of Punjab under Zulfikar Ali Bhutto in the 1970s. A close aid of Mr. Bhutto during his time in power, he retired from all active politics after the government’s removal by the army in 1977.
