Bahadur Shah II better known as Bahadur Shah Zafar, born Abu Zafar Sirajuddin Muhammad Bahadur Shah Zafar on 24 October 1775  – died 7 November 1862) was the last Mughal emperor and a member of the Timurid Dynasty.

Rasipuram Krishnaswamy Iyer Laxman (born 23 October 1921, Mysore, India) is an Indian cartoonist, illustrator, and humorist. He is best known for his creation The Common Man. R. K. Laxman was born in Mysore. His father was a headmaster and Laxman was the youngest of six sons; an older brother is the novelist, R. K. Narayan.

Wriddhiman Saha (born 24 October 1984) is an Indian cricketer. He is a right-handed batsman and specialist wicket-keeper. Saha has played Test cricket for India and represents Bengal and the Chennai Super Kings in Indian domestic cricket.

Lakshmi Sahgal (or Sehgal) (born October 24, 1914) was an activist of the Indian independence movement, an officer of the Indian National Army, and the Minister of Women’s Affairs in the Azad Hind government. Sahgal is commonly referred to in India as Captain Lakshmi, a reference to her rank when taken prisoner in Burma.

Prabodh Chandra Dey (born 1 May 1919), better known by his nickname Manna Dey is a playback singer in Hindi, Bengali, Gujarati, Marathi, Malayalam, Kanada, Assamese films. Along with Mohammed Rafi, Kishore Kumar, Mukesh he was a part of Indian film playback music industry.

Sir Albert Abdullah David Sassoon, 1st Baronet, KCB, CSI, (25 July 1818 – 24 October 1896) was a British Indian philanthropist and merchant. Sir Albert was born in Baghdad, a member of a Jewish family that had lived there since the beginning of the 16th century, having been expelled from Spain in the 1490s.

Ismat Chughtai (August 1915 – 24 October 1991) was an eminent Urdu writer, known for her indomitable spirit and a fierce feminist ideology. She was considered the grand dame of Urdu fiction, Along with Rashid Jahan, Wajeda Tabassum and Qurratulain Hyder, Ismat’s work stands for the birth of a revolutionary feminist politics and aesthetics in twentieth century Urdu literature.

Rafi Ahmed Kidwai (18 February 1894 – 24 October 1954) was a politician, an Indian independence activist and a socialist, sometimes described as an Islamic socialist. He hailed from Barabanki District of United Provinces, now Uttar Pradesh, in north India. He was born on 18 February 1894 in the village of Masauli, in Barabanki district.

Caroline Frances Eleanor Spurgeon (24 October 1869, India – 24 October 1942, Tucson, Arizona) was an English literary critic. She was educated at Cheltenham Ladies’ College, Dresden and at King’s College London and University College London. Caroline Spurgeon is known as the first female university professor in London, the second in England.
