Manmohan Desai (26 February 1937–1 March 1994) was a producer and director of Indian movies. His father, Kikubhai Desai, was an Indian film producer and owner of Paramount Studios (later Filmalaya) from 1931 to 1941. His productions, mainly stunt films, included Circus Queen, Golden Gang, and Sheikh Challi. Manmohan Desai’s older brother, Subhash Desai, became a producer in the 1950s

Sir Benegal Narsing Rau, CIE or B.N. Rau (b. 26 February 1887 Mangalore, d. 30 November 1953) was an Indian bureaucrat, jurist, diplomat and statesman known for his key role in drafting the Constitution of India. He was also India’s representative to the United Nations Security Council from 1950 to 1952. He was the brother of former Governor of Reserve Bank of India Benegal Rama Rau.

Chandikadas Amritrao Deshmukh aka Nanaji Deshmukha  (October 11, 1916 – February 27, 2010) was a social activist in Bharat/India. He did exemplary work in the field of education, health and rural self-reliance and has been honored with Padma Vibhushan title by the Government of India.

Vinayak Damodar Savarkar (Marathi: विनायक दामोदर सावरकर ), b. 28 May 1883 – 26 February 1966) was an Indian freedom fighter, revolutionary and politician. He was the proponent of liberty as the ultimate ideal. Savarkar was a poet, writer and playwrighter. He launched a movement for religious reform advocating dismantling the system of caste in Hindu culture.

Anandi Gopal Joshi A (or Anandibai Joshi) (Marathi: आनंदी गोपाळ जोशी/आनंदीबाई जोशी)(March 31, 1865 – February 26, 1887) was one of the two first Indian women to obtain a medical degree through training in Western medicine. (Kadambini Ganguly earned a medical degree the same year, 1886, as Anandibai.) She was also the first Hindu woman to do so.

Shankarrao Bhavrao Chavan (14 July 1920 – 26 February 2004) was an Indian politician who served twice as Chief Minister of Maharashtra from 1975 until 1977 and from 13 March 1986 until 24 June 1988. He was Finance Minister of India from 1987 to 1990, and served as Home Minister of India in the Narasimha Rao cabinet. Chavan completed his Bachelor of Arts from Madras University

Narmadashankar Lalshankar Dave  (August 24, 1833 – February 26, 1886), popularly known as Narmad, was a Gujarati author, poet, scholar and public speaker. Narmad was born in Surat on August 24, 1833. He introduced many creative forms of writing in Gujarati.

1857 First Indian Revolution called the Sepoy Mutiny ends in a few months with the fall of Delhi and Lucknow which broke out in Berhampore by the 19th Bengal Infantry.

1858 Diwan Maniram and Piali Barua were hanged. (Grandson of Purandara Simha, the last Ahom king of Assam).

 1887 Sir Benegal Narsingh Rao, an eminent lawyer and political leader, was born. He was the first Indian President of UN Security Council in 1950.

1901 The notes of Rs twenty denomination were issued with two issuing circles. These notes had four numeric denominations.
