  • Asin Thottumkal (born 26 October 1985), known mononymously as Asin, is an Indian film actress who predominantly appears in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu films. Making her acting debut in Sathyan Anthikkad’s Malayalam film Narendran Makan Jayakanthan Vaka (2001), Asin had her first commercial success with the Telugu film Amma Nanna O Tamila Ammayi in 2003, and won a Filmfare Best Telugu Actress Award.
  • Raveena Tandon (born 26 October 1974) is an Indian actress, producer, and a former model. She has primarily worked in Bollywood films, though she appeared in a few Tamil, Kannada and Telugu films as well. Tandon made her acting debut with Patthar Ke Phool (1991), and won a Filmfare Lux New Face Award for her performance in the film.
  • Amala Paul (born October 26, 1991) is an Indian film actress, who works primarily in the Tamil film industry. After appearing in supporting roles in a few low budget ventures, she received critical acclaim for the portrayal of a controversial character in the film, Sindhu Samaveli. 
  • Nagoor Babu known by his stage name Mano (Telugu: మనో born 26th October, 1965) is an Indian playback singer, voice-over artist, actor, producer, television anchor and music composer. He is a recipient of several awards such as the “Kalaimamani” award from the Government of Tamil Nadu and Nandi Awards from the Government of Andhra Pradesh.
  • Karan Sharma(Hindi: करन शर्मा) (26 October 1981) is an Indian actor who made his film debut in Dil Jo Bhi Kahey. Sharma is the son of producer Romesh Sharma. Currently living in India, Karan Sharma has studied International Business and Management Studies at the European Business School London. He is fluent in English and Hindi, and can speak some French. 
  • Shri Ashwani Kumar (born 26 October 1952), a politician from the Indian National Congress party, currently serving as Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs and Planning. A Member of the Parliament of India representing Punjab in the Rajya Sabha, the upper house of the Indian Parliament, he earlier was the Minister of State in the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion.
  • Sher-e-Bangla (Urdu phrase meaning ‘The Tiger of Bengal’) Abul Kasem Fazlul Huq (Bengali: আবুল কাসেম ফজলুল হক; 26 October 1873—27 April 1962) was a well-known Bengali statesman in the first half of the 20th century. He held different political posts including those of the Mayor of Calcutta (1935), Chief Minister of undivided Bengal (1937–1943) and East Bengal (1954).

  • Ram Krishna Baliga (December 29, 1929—October 26, 1988) is regarded as the father of the Electronics City in Bangalore, India. R.K Baliga went to Canara High School Mangalore and PUC (Pre University Course) at St. Aloysius College, Mangalore before he went to Guindy Engineering College for B.E. (Elec) Honors.
  • Daniel Acharuparambil (12 May 1939 – 26 October 2009) was a Roman Catholic Indian archbishop of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Verapoly. Ordained to the priesthood on 14 March 1966, he was named archbishop and was ordained on 3 November 1996. Dr. Daniel Acharuparambil, the Archbishop of Verapoly, was a member of Discalced Carmelite Order, Manjummel Province, Kerala, India. 
  • Mookencheril Cherian Joseph (6 January 1887 – 26 October 1981), popularly known as Yukthivadi M. C. Joseph, was an eminent rationalist from Kerala, India. M. C. Joseph was born on January 6, 1887 at Thripunithura in Kerala. His father was Mookencheril Kuncheria and mother Maria. After his education, he took up his career as a lawyer.

Notable Events: 

  • 1814 -> British General Governor declared war against Nepal.
  • 1930 -> Gulal Bai Parekar, a14-year-old girl led a 13-girls team to hoist the national flag at Esplanade Park. A police sargeant tried to snach the flag and then kidnapped her.
  • 1934 -> Akhil Bharatiya Gramin Udyog Sangh (All India Small Scale Industries Association) was founded and inaugrated by Mahatma Gandhi.
  • 1943 -> Cholera epidemic killed 2,155 people in the third week of October at Calcutta.
