  • Dileep (born Gopalakrishnan Padmanabhan Pillai on 27 October 1968) is an Indian film actor, mimicry artist and producer best known for his work in Malayalam cinema. Dileep was born on 27 October 1968 in Aluva, Ernakulam district, Kerala to Padmanabhan Pillai and Sarojam. He studied at S.N.V. Sadanam School and Vidyadhiraja Vidya Bhavan High School, then joined Aluva U.C. College.
  • Irfan Pathan ( pronunciation (help·info), (born 27 October 1984 in Baroda, Gujarat, India) is an Indian cricketer who made his debut for India in late-2003 and was a core member of the national team until a decline in form set in during 2006, forcing him out of the team. Since then, he has been in and out of the limited-overs team, and has only sporadic appearances in Test cricket. 
  • Anuradha Paudwal is a popular playback singer in Bollywood in India. She has sung songs in Hindi, Marathi, Tamil, Oriya, and Nepali. She studied at Xavier’s College in Mumbai. She was married to the late Arun Paudwal, who worked with music director S. D. Burman as his assistant. Her singing career started in 1973 with the movie, Abhimaan, (starring Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan).
  • Pooja Batra (born 27 October 1976) in Faizabad, Uttar Pradesh, is an Indian actress. Pooja Batra was born to Ravi Batra, an army colonel who was wounded in the 1971 war between India and Pakistan. Her mother, Neelam Batra was a former Miss India participant in 1971. She did her schooling at Kendriya Vidyalaya Number-1,Faridabad,Haryana, where she enjoyed sports, debates and plays. 
  • Sivakumar (born 27 October 1941 as Palanichamy Gounder) is a Tamil cinema actor who has portrayed a wide range of character roles onscreen. Sivakumar was introduced in the Tamil movie Kaakum karangal (1965) which was produced by AVM Productions. Though he came as side actor to the industry, He has starred in the role of leading man and character actor in many Tamil movies.
  • Kocheril Raman Narayanan pronunciation (help·info) (Malayalam: കോച്ചേരിൽ രാമൻ‌ നാരായണൻ, 27 October 1920 – 9 November 2005), also known as K. R. Narayanan, was the tenth President of India. He was the first Dalit, and the first Malayali, to have been President. Born in Perumthanam, Uzhavoor village, in the princely state of Travancore (present day Kottayam district, Kerala).
  • A. Ayyappan (27 October 1949 – 21 October 2010) was a Malayalam poet in the modernist period. Born in a wealthy goldsmith’s family, in Nemom, Thiruvanathapuram, Kerala, he became a non-conformist member of reading Malayali families. He had a very tragic childhood. His father, Arumukham, died when he was only one year old, perhaps due to poison.
  • Dibyendu Barua (দিব্যেন্দু বড়ুয়া) (born October 27, 1966) is a chess Grandmaster from the city of Kolkata (Calcutta) in the Indian state of West Bengal. He is the second Indian to become a Grandmaster, after Viswanathan Anand. In 1978, Barua, as a 12-year-old, became the youngest participant in the Indian National Championship of chess.

  • Pradeep Kumar (born Pradeep Batabyal; 4 January 1925 – 27 October 2001) was an Indian actor in Bengali and Hindi films. When Kumar was 17 years old, he decided to take up acting. His started his film career in Bengali films. His notable roles in Bengali films were in Alaknanda(1947) directed by renowned filmmaker Debaki Bose and in ’42 (1951).
  • Chakravarthi Padmanabhan Ramanujam (Tamil: சக்கிரவர்த்தி பத்மநாபன் அஜய் ராமானுஜம்; January 9, 1938 – October 27, 1974) was an Indian mathematician who worked in the fields of number theory and algebraic geometry. He was elected a Fellow of the Indian Academy of Sciences in 1973. Like his namesake Srinivasa Ramanujan, Ramanujam also had a very short life.
  • Satyen Kappu (1931 – 27 October 2007), also credited as Satyendra Kapoor, was an Indian character actor in Bollywood films. His most remembered role is Ramlal in movie Sholay (1975) and as Amitabh Bachchan’s father in Yash Chopra’s Deewaar. His other notable films are, Kati Patang, Mausam, Yaadon Ki Baraat,Khote Sikkay, Don, Raaste Ka Patthar, Benaam, Zanjeer, Majboor, Namak Halaal etc.
  • Vayalar Ramavarma (March 28, 1928 – October 27, 1975), often known as Vayalar, was a modern Malayalam language poet and lyricist from the southern Indian state of Kerala. His famous works include Sargasangeetham, Mulankaadu, Padamudrakal, Aayisha, Oru Judas janikkunnu. Born in the village of Vayalar, in Alappuzha district, Kerala, Vayalar belonged to an aristocratic family.
  • Vijaysingh Madhavji Merchant pronunciation (help·info), real name Vijay Madhavji Thakersey (October 12, 1911 – October 27, 1987) was an Indian cricketer. A right-hand batter and occasional right-arm medium pace bowler, Merchant played first class cricket for Mumbai cricket team as well as 10 Test matches for India between 1929 and 1951.

  • 1989 -> The XIV-World Congress of Neurology was held in New Delhi under the auspices of the World Federation of Neurology and Neurology Society of India. (21-10-89).

  • 1997 -> UP ministry expanded by inducting 70 new members thus taking the total number of a record 93 members.
