Narayana Guru (August 28, 1855 – September 20, 1928) was a spiritual leader and social reformer in India. Born into a family of the Ezhava caste in an era when people from such communities were regarded as Avarna.

Priya Dutt Roncon (born 28 August 1966) is an Indian politician. She was elected for the first time to the 14th Lok Sabha from Mumbai North West constituency in Maharashtra on 22 November 2005, representing the Indian National Congress party.

Deepak Tijori (born 28 August 1961) is an Indian film director and actor who works in Bollywood and Gujarati films and is well known for his supporting roles in Aashiqui (1990), Khiladi (1992), Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar (1992), Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa (1994), Anjaam (1994), Ghulam (1998) and Baadshah (1999).

Karanvir Bohra (born 28 August 1982), known also as Manoj Bohra, is an Indian television and film actor, producer and designer. He starred in the TV shows Kasautii Zindagii Kay, Dil Se Di Dua… Saubhagyavati Bhava?, Shararat, Naagin 2 and Qubool Hai and also in the films Kismat Konnection and Mumbai 125 KM.

Siddique is an Indian film actor and producer, who works mainly in Malayalam cinema. He also appeared in a few Tamil and Telugu films. He has appeared in more than 300 films. Siddique made his acting debut with the film Aa Neram Alppa Dooram (1985).
