Dhirajlal Hirachand Ambani (Gujarati: ધીરજલાલ હીરાચંદ અંબાણી ; 28 December 1932 – 6 July 2002) was an Indian rags-to-riches business tycoon who founded Reliance Industries in Mumbai with his cousin. Ambani took his company public in 1977. Dhirubhai has been among the select few to be figured in the Sunday Times list of top 50 businessmen in Asia.
Sir Ratan Naval Tata, KBE (Gujarati: રતન નવલ ટાટા; born 28 December 1937), is an Indian businessman who became chairman (1991– ) of the Tata Group, a Mumbai-based conglomerate. He is a member of a prominent Tata family of Indian industrialists and philanthropists.
Arackaparambil Kurien Antony (born on December 28, 1940) is an Indian politician who is currently a Member of Parliament from Rajya Sabha and the current Defence Minister of India. He previously served as the Chief Minister of Kerala.
Arun Jaitley (Hindi:अरुण जेटली ) (born 28 December 1952) is a prominent Indian politician and a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), which is currently the largest Opposition party in India. He is the leader of opposition in the Rajya Sabha and has previously served as the Union Minister for commerce, industry, law and justice of the Government of India.
Sajid Khan (born 28 December 1951 in Mumbai, India) is a former Indian actor. He is the adopted son of Indian film producer Mehboob Khan, founder of Mehboob Studios, in India. Sajid started acting as a child appearing as the younger version of Sunil Dutt’s character in his father Mehboob’s 1957 film Mother India.
Cézanne Khan is an Indian television actor. He became famous by playing the role of Anurag Basu in Balaji Telefilms’s Kasautii Zindagii Kay, aired on STAR Plus. He has also taken roles in Pakistani television. Khan went to boarding school at Barnes in Deolali. He earned his Bachelor of Communications from M.M.K. College of Commerce & Economics in Bandra, Bombay.
Carol Gracias is an Indian model born and brought up in Mumbai. She is a past winner of the coveted India’s L’Oreal/Elite “Look of the year” title. She belongs to the Goan Catholic community, a Christian community in India. Carol had a cameo in the movie Being Cyrus.

Death anniversaries on 28th December :

Sumitranandan Pant (Hindi: सुमित्रा नंदन पंत) (May 20, 1900 – December 28, 1977) was one of the most famous modern Hindi poets. He is considered one of the major poets of the Chhayavaadi school of Hindi literature. Pant mostly wrote in Sanskritized Hindi. Pant authored twenty eight published works including poetry, verse plays and essays.
David Abraham Cheulkar (1909–December 28, 1981), popularly known as David, was a Jewish-Indian, Hindi film actor. In a career spanning four decades, he played mostly character roles, starting with 1941 film Naya Sansar, and went on to act in over 110 films, including memorable films like, Gol Maal (1979), Baton Baton Mein (1979) and Boot Polish (1954) etc.
Padma Shri Achyut P. Kanvinde (1916–28 December 2002) is considered as one of forefathers of modern Indian architecture. He was born in Achara, in the Konkan region of Maharashtra, in 1916 in a large family. His mother died when he was two and his father was an arts teacher in Bombay.
P. Janardhan Reddy popularly known as PJR (January 12, 1948 – December 28, 2007), was an Indian politician and labour leader. He had served as MLA five times for the Hyderabad constituency of Khairtabad. He was MLA for the constituency in 1978, 1985, 1989, 1994, and 2004 until his death.
Kushabhau Thakre (August 15, 1922 – December 28, 2003) was a political leader in India. He was born in Dhar, Madhya Pradesh, India to parents Dr. Sundar Rao Shripati Rao Thakre (father) and Smt. Shantabhai Sundar Rao Thakre (mother). He was educated at Dhar and Gwalior. In 1942 he was inducted as a Pracharak by the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh.

1883 -> Under the leadership of Surendra Nath Banerji, the political group of Bengal organised National Conference as “Bharat Sabha”.

1896 -> In the Indian National Congress, Vande Mataram was first sung in Calcutta.

1921 -> Prince of Wales inagurated Victoria Memorial Hall at Calcutta.

1926 -> Imperial Airways begins England-India mail & passenger service.
