Vidya Malvade (born 2 March 1972) is an Indian actress, mainly working in the Bollywood film industry. She studied Law and worked as an air hostess. Her husband, Capt. Arvind Singh Bagga was working as a pilot with Alliance Air. He died in 2000 when his flight Alliance Air Flight 7412, collided with a building at Patna. In 2009 she married Sanjay Dayma.

Purushottam Nagesh Oak (March 2, 1917 – December 4, 2007), commonly referred to as P. N. Oak, was an Indian writer, notable for his Hinducentric brand of historical revisionism.

Vidyasagar is an Award-Winning Indian film music director and music composer in the Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Hindi film industry. He is very popular in South Indian music industry and best known for his soulful melodies. His fast numbers to many films have earned him much fame too.

Ravi Krishna (born 2 March 1983) is an Indian actor who works in the Tamil and Telugu film industries. Son of noted producer A. M. Rathnam, he made his acting debut in Selvaraghavan’s critically acclaimed 7G Rainbow Colony. After his schooling, Ravi Krishna went to London where he pursued a BA degree in Multimedia.

Laurence Wilfred “Laurie” Baker (2 March 1917 – 1 April 2007) was an award-winning British-born Indian architect, renowned for his initiatives in cost-effective energy-efficient architecture and for his unique space utilisation and simple but beautiful aesthetic sensibility.

Death anniversaries on 2nd March

Sarojini Naidu (13 February 1879 – 2 March 1949), also known by the sobriquet The Nightingale of India (Bharatiya Kokila), was a child prodigy, Indian independence activist and poet.

Guru Hargobind Sahib,  also Saccha Badshah “True Emperor” (19 June 1595–3 March 1644). According to another tradition, he was born on 19th of June 1590.

Shrimant Rajaram Shivaji Raje Bhonsle Chhatrapati Maharaj (1670- March 2, 1700 Sinhagad) was the younger son of the first Chhatrapati Shivaji, stepbrother of the second Chhatrapati Sambhaji, and took over the Maratha Empire as its third Chhatrapati after his brother’s death at the hands of the Mughal Emperor, Aurangzeb in 1689.

Sukhlal Sanghvi (1880 – 1978) also known as Pandit Sukhlalji was a Jain Scholar and Philosopher. He belonged to the Sthanakvasi sect of Jainism. Pandit Sukhlal lost his eyesight at the age of sixteen on account of small-pox.

Salem Ramaswami Mudaliar (6 September 1852 – 2 March 1892) was an Indian lawyer, politician and Indian independence activist who campaigned for India’s independence. Ramaswami Mudaliar was born in Salem, Madras Presidency to Salem Gopalaswami Mudaliar who served as the tahsildar of Namakkal.

1930 Gandhiji addresses letter to Viceroy intimating his intention to break Salt Law if Congress demands are not conceded.

1952 Sindri Fertilizer Factory, Bihar, formally inaugurated by Nehru. It was the first Government owned company.

1963 China reports troops have left disputed area in India.

1982 Indira Gandhi opened Mahatma Gandhi Road Bridge at Patna.
