  • Siddharth Roy Kapoor is an Indian businessperson and the CEO of UTV Motion Pictures. He started working at Procter & Gamble after graduating from JBIMS. Post that he joined Star Plus at the time of the launch of Kaun Banega Crorepati.
  • Ruslaan Mumtaz is an Indian actor who works in the Mumbai based Hindi film industry, colloquially known as Bollywood. He is the son of actress Anjana Mumtaz. He made his acting debut in the romantic drama MP3 – Mera Pehla Pehla Pyaar, which was not a big success, but earned him positive reviews. Film critic Taran Adarsh from indiaFM wrote, “Ruslaan does very well.
  • Sushma Reddy is an Indian model, VJ, and scriptwriter. Sushma Reddy graduated in Economics from Mithibai College, Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. She has two sisters, Meghna Reddy and Sameera Reddy. She completed filmmaking course from NYFA in United States. Her sister Meghna persuaded her to television world.
  • Sunil Bohra is an Indian producer, distributor, and exhibitor. He hails from a family of Hindu marwari origin, and is the son of Surendra Bohra and Shanti Bohra; his sister is Sunita Bohra Vyas. He is the grandson of actor / producer and filmmaker Shri Ram Bohra who was president of IMPPA Indian Motion Pictures Producers Association for 15 years.

  • V. Balakrishnan (b. in Katappattoor near Pala, 13 February 1932; d. at Pala, 2 August 2004) was a prolific Malayalam writer and translator of texts between Malayalam, Sanskrit and English. He participated in the Indian independence movement, which resulted in his expulsion from college.
  • Ramkinkar Baij  (May 25, 1906 – August 2, 1980) was an Indian sculptor and painter, one of the pioneers of modern Indian sculpture. Baij was born in an economically modest family in the Bankura district of the modern state of West Bengal in India. In that sense, he was a Bengali, not an Adivasi, as many people usually think.
  • V. Dakshinamoorthy (born 22 December 1919) is a veteran carnatic musician and music director of Malayalam, Tamil and Hindi films, predominantly in Malayalam films. He has set scores for the songs in over 125 films. He is now retired from film music direction but is still active in classical music.

  • 1763 – British troops once again defeated Mir Kasim in ‘Giriya’ battle.
  • 1858 – British parliament passed the act to handover the administration of India to British Government from East India Company. After the occasion, the Supreme British ruler in India was called as ‘Viceroy’.
  • 1877 – Pandit Ravishankar Shukla, former Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, lawyer, politician and social worker, was born in Sagar, M.P.
  • 1935 – The British pass Govt. of India Act, separating Burma, Aden from India.
