    • Shahrukh Khan (pronounced [‘ʃaːɦrəx ˈxaːn]; born 2 November 1965), often credited as Shah Rukh Khan and informally referred to as SRK, is an Indian film actor. Known as “The King of Bollywood”, Khan has acted in over 70 Hindi films. He has won fourteen Filmfare Awards from thirty nominations for his work in Indian films and shares the record for the highest number of Best Actor awards with Dilip Kumar.
    • Diana Penty (born 2 November 1985) is an Indian model and actress who made her film debut in Homi Adajania’s Cocktail. Diana Penty was born in Mumbai to a Parsi father and a Christian mother. Penty has completed her Bachelors degree in Mass Media from St. Xavier’s College in Mumbai.
    • Esha Deol (born 2 November 1981) is an Indian actress who appears in Bollywood films. She made her acting debut in Koi Mere Dil Se Poochhe that won her a Filmfare Best Female Debut Award (2002). She has also appeared in the commercially successful films such as Dhoom (2004), Dus (2005), and No Entry (2005). She is the daughter of Indian actors Dharmendra and Hema Malini.
  • Kunchacko Boban (born on November 2, 1976) is an Indian film actor best known for his work in Malayalam cinema. He started his career with the blockbuster film Aniathipravu (1997). His roles in Nakshathrathaarattu (1998), Mayilpeelikkavu (1998), and Niram (1999) made him one of the popular lead actors of the late-1990s.
  • Anu Malik (Hindi: अनु मलिक) (born 2 November 1960), born Anwar Sardaar Malik, is a music director in the Hindi film industry. Son of veteran music director Sardar Malek, Anu Malik made his debut as a music composer in the year 1977. In the 90’s Anu had hits like ‘Phir Teri Kahani Yaad Aayee’, ‘Baazigar’ and ‘Jaanam’.
  • Dipannita Sharma (Assamese: দীপান্বিতা শৰ্মা) (born 2 November 1976 in Assam, India) is a supermodel,entrepreneur and an actress. She came into the limelight after making to the final five of the Miss India 1998 contest. She was also judged the ‘Miss Photogenic’ in the same contest. She has also done a couple of television shows starting with Life Nahi Hai Laddoo.
  • Roshni Chopra is an Indian actress, television presenter and the winner of NDTV Imagine’s reality show, Dil Jeetegi Desi Girl. She is known for playing the role of Pia, the younger sister of protagonist Bani Walia in Ekta Kapoor’s Kasamh Se on Zee TV. She was also the presenter of the pre and post-match cricket show on Doordarshan known as Fourth Umpire.

  • Shreeram Shankar Abhyankar (born 22 July 1930) is an Indian American mathematician known for his contributions to algebraic geometry. He currently holds the Marshall distinguished professor of mathematics chair at Purdue University, and is also a professor of computer science and industrial engineering. He is known for Abhyankar’s conjecture of finite group theory.
  • Bhikari Bal (25 May 1929 – 2 November 2010), better known as Bhajan Samrat to the people of Orissa, was an Indian singer, best known for his performances in the Indian musical form, the bhajans. He was a great devotee of Lord Jagannath. He was popular for his dedication to Oriya Bhajans which brought him laurels from far and wide.
  • Saint Geevarghese Mar Gregorios or Parumala Thirumeni (15 June 1848 -2 November 1902) of Parumala was a bishop of the Orthodox church in India. He is the first canonized Oriental Orthodox saint from India. He is popularly known as Parumala Thirumeni (Bishop of Parumala) or Kochu Thirumeni. Geevarghese was born into the Chathuruthy family in Mulanthuruthy, Kerala.
  • Major General William Spottiswoode Trevor VC (9 October 1831 – 2 November 1907) was a recipient of the Victoria Cross, the highest and most prestigious award for gallantry in the face of the enemy that can be awarded to British and Commonwealth forces. Educated at Addiscombe, Trevor was 33 years old, and a major in the Bengal Engineers, Bengal Army during the Bhutan War.
  • Chakravarthi V. Narasimhan (b. May 21, 1915, Madras, India, d. November 2, 2003, Chennai, India) was a former Under Secretary-General of the United Nations, serving twenty-two years in the UN. He was appointed to the United Nations in 1956, as Executive Secretary of the U.N. Economic Commission for Asia and Far East.

1908 -> 50 years after the start of direct rule, Edward VII talks of ‘prudently extending’ democracy.

1950 -> India rebukes Mao for invasion of Tibet.

1956 -> Express Train plunged down the Marudaiyar river embarkment killng 143 persons.
