    • Tabu (Hindi: तब्बू) (born Tabassum Hashmi on 4 November 1971) is an Indian film actress. She has mainly acted in Hindi films, though she has also starred in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Marathi and Bengali language films, as well as one American film. She has won the National Film Award for Best Actress twice, and she holds the record for the most wins of Filmfare’s Critics Award.
    • Abul Muzaffar Muhiu ‘d-Din Muhammad Aurangzeb (Persian/Urdu: ابلمظفر محىالدين محمداورنگزيب, Hindi: अबुल मुज़फ्फर मुहिउद्दीन मुहम्मद औरंगज़ेब आलमगीर) (4 November [O.S. 25 October] 1618 – 3 March [O.S. 20 February] 1707), is more popularly known as Aurangzeb, or by his chosen imperial title Alamgir (“Conqueror of the World”), he was the sixth Mughal Emperor, whose reign lasted for 49 years.
    • Milind Soman (Marathi: मिलिंद सोमण) (born 4 November 1965) is an Indian model, actor, and film producer. Milind Soman was born to a Marathi Chitpavan Brahmin family in Scotland and lived in England until the age of seven, when his family moved back to India. He is a Gowd Saraswat Brahmin from his maternal side. He was also a national-level swimmer for India and was then discovered as a model.
    • Suhas Gopinath (Kannada : ಸುಹಾಸ್ ಗೋಪಿನಾಥ್), (born November 4, 1986) is an Indian entrepreneur. He is the founder, CEO, and Chairman of Globals Inc., an IT multinational company. Suhas Gopinath was born in Bangalore, Karnataka, India. He launched a web site at the age of 14, and incorporated his company the same year, becoming the world’s youngest CEO.
  • Ritwik Ghatak or Ritwik Kumar Ghatak ( Rittik (Kumar) Ghôţok (help·info); 4 November 1925 – 6 February 1976) was a Bengali Indian filmmaker and script writer. Along with prominent contemporary Bengali filmmakers Satyajit Ray and Mrinal Sen, his cinema is primarily remembered for its meticulous depiction of social reality.
  • Jamnalal Bajaj (4 November 1884 – 11 February 1942) was an Indian industrialist, a philanthropist, and Indian independence fighter. He was also a close associate and follower of Mahatma Gandhi. Gandhi is known to have adopted him as his son. He founded the Bajaj Group of companies in 1926. The group now has 24 companies, including 6 listed companies.
  • Lakshmi Menon (born November 4, 1981 in Kerala, India) is an Indian model. She took up modelling to earn money while studying for a degree in sociology at the Bangalore University. After modelling in India for several years, she began her international career in 2006. A show for Jean Paul Gaultier was followed by work on the Hermès catwalk and campaigns for Hermès, Max Mara, Givenchy, H&M etc.

Death anniversaries on 4th November :

    • Nagarjuna (Hindi:नागार्जुन, Baba Nagarjun, Vaidya Nath Mishra, Yatri) (June 30, 1911 – November 4, 1998) was a major Hindi and Maithili poet who has also penned a number of novels, short stories, literary biographies and travelogues, and was known as Janakavi- the People’s Poet. Born Vaidya Nath Mishra, in 1911, into a Maithil Brahmin family in a small village of Satlakha.
    • A. C. Zainuddin (12 May 1952 – 4 November 1999) was a popular Malayalam film comedian actor. He started his career as a mimicry artist in Cochin Kalabhavan. He was expert in imitating actor Madhu, especially his mannerisms as Pareekkutty in Chemmeen. He started to act in films like Chappa directed by P. A. Bakkar. He then went on to act in over 150 films in a span of 13 years from 1986 to 1999.
    • Sir Biren Mookerjee (full name Birendranath Mookerjee, more popular simply as Sir Biren; the family surname was spelt by them differently from the standard “Mukherjee.”) (Bengali: স্যার বীরেন মুখার্জ্জী) (1899 – 1982) was a leading industrialist who established the IISCO steel plant at Burnpur and other industrial establishments.
  • Sirdar Ikbal Ali Shah (Hindi: सरदार इक़बाल अली शाह, Urdu: سردار اقبال علی شاہ, born 1894 in Sardhana, India, died 4 November 1969 in Tangier, Morocco) was an Indian-Afghan author and diplomat descended from the Sadaat of Paghman. Educated in India, he came to Britain as a young man to continue his education in Edinburgh, where he married a young Scotswoman.
  • Meeraji (Urdu: میراجی ) (May 25, 1912 – November 4, 1949) was an eminent Urdu poet. He lived the life of a bohemian and worked only intermittently. Born into a Kashmiri family of Gujranwala and named Mohammed Sanaullah Dar, he passed his childhood days in Kucha Sardar Shah, Mozang, Lahore. His father Munshi Mohammad Mahtabuddin was a railway engineer.

Notable Events: 

1931 -> Mahatma Gandhi paid a visit to Buckingham Palace clad in his loin cloth and homespun shawl, and met India’s Emperor on this date. Gandhi’s sandals pattered on the floor as he crossed the drawing room to greet King George V and Queen Mary.

1947 -> India and Pakistan accuse each other of violating their neutrality agreement in the Kashmir dispute as Indian troops invade the state.

1951 -> Vijay Merchant scores 154 v England in his last Test Cricket innings.

1954 -> Himalayan Mountaineering Institute established at Darjiling.

1982 -> Gen. Zia-ul-Haq of Pakistan visits New Delhi. Agreement to set up a Joint Commission.
