- Mukesh Bhatt (born 5 June 1952 in Mumbai), is an Indian film producer, who has produced several Bollywood films. He is the younger brother of director, Mahesh Bhatt and also the co-owner of the production company, Vishesh Films, set up in 1986.
- Ajinkya Rahane (born 5 June 1988, in a Maratha family, Maharashtra) is an Indian international cricketer. He is a right-handed batsman, who represents India in international competitions. Rahane represents Mumbai in domestic competitions and Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League.
- Vijayalakshmi (born June 5, 1974), best known by her stage name Rambha, is an Indian film actress. She has acted in over 100 South Indian films and also in Bollywood films. She had done several successful films in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Hindi, Kannada, Bengali and Bhojpuri films.

- Rajeev Motwani (March 24, 1962 – June 5, 2009) was a professor of Computer Science at Stanford University whose research focused on theoretical computer science. He was an early advisor and supporter of companies including Google and PayPal, and a special advisor to Sequoia Capital.
- Acharya Kuber Nath Rai (March 26, 1933-June 5, 1996) was a writer and scholar of Hindi Literature and Sanskrit. He was born in Matsa village, Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh in a Brahmin of bhumihar Brahmin clan family. He got his education from Banaras Hindu University and Calcutta University. From 1958 to 1986 he was in Nalbari College, Assam as a Lecturer in English Department.
- Puttanna Kanagal (1933–1985) was one of the most prominent Kannada film directors of the 1960s and the 1970s. Although the majority of his films were on offbeat or taboo subjects, he endeared himself to both the critics and ordinary film goers alike.

- 1659– Dara Shukoh celebrated his coronation at Deorai after the final defeat.
- 1882- Cyclonic Storm & floods in Arabian Sea hit Bombay. About 100,000 people drowned.
- 1984: Operation ‘Blue Star’ was launched by Indira Gandhi. Indian commandos raged into Sikh’s holiest gurudwara Golden Temple in Amritsar to flush out the terrorists and other anti-government elements.
- 1992: Hindi weekly of Indian Express Group ‘Screen’ published for the first time.
