  • Maankombu Sambasivan Swaminathan (born 7 August 1925) is an Indian geneticist and international administrator, renowned for his leading role in India’s “Green Revolution,” a program under which high-yield varieties of wheat and rice seedlings were planted in the fields of poor farmers. Swaminathan is known as the “Father of the Green Revolution in India”.
  • Cyrus Broacha is a TV anchor, theatre personality, political satirist, columnist and author. He is also a stand-up comedian and prankster, best known for his show Bakra on MTV and his show The Week That Wasn’t on CNN-IBN. Cyrus was born on August 7, 1971 to a Parsi father and Catholic mother. He studied at Cathedral and John Connon School, Mumbai and graduated from St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai.
  • Naveen Medaram (Born 7th Aug 1979) is a Film Director, Screen writer and Visual effects artist. Naveen Medaram was born in Nizamabad, AP, India, on August 7, 1979, he was brought up in Nizamabad. His full name is Medaram Naveen Kumar Goud. Naveen Medaram has been involved with 20 Hollywood films as a Visual Effects Artist. His work includes Prince of Persia, 2012, Harry Potter and Batman.
  • Pappu Kalani (born 1951) is an Indian criminal-politician from Ulhasnagar. After emerging as the leader of an organized crime syndicate in the 1980s, he won elections for the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly in 1986 with the Indian National Congress party,. He won 1990 elections as Indian National Congress, 1995, 1999 elections as Independent.

  • Rabindranath Tagore  7 May 1861 – 7 August 1941 sobriquet Gurudev, was a Bengali polymath who reshaped his region’s literature and music. Author of Gitanjali and its “profoundly sensitive, fresh and beautiful verse”, he became the first non-European to win the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1913. In translation his poetry was viewed as spiritual and mercurial.
  • General Sir Harry Craufurd Tuzo, GCB, OBE, MC (26 August 1917 – 7 August 1998) was a British Army officer who was Deputy Supreme Allied Commander Europe and GOC of the British Army in Northern Ireland during the early period of the Troubles. Harry Craufurd Tuzo was born in Bangalore, India, on 26 August 1917; the son of John Atkinson Tuzo, a British Army Officer and civil engineer.
  • Cornelius Elanjikal D.D. Ph.D. DC.L. (September 8, 1918 – August 7, 2011) was an Indian prelate of the Roman Catholic Church. He was born in Kerala, India and was ordained a priest on March 18, 1945. Elanjikal was appointed January 16, 1971 to the Diocese of Vijayapuram and was ordained a bishop on April 4, 1971. Elanjikal was appointed to the Diocese of Verapoly on January 26, 1987.
