Purushottam Laxman Deshpande (8 November 1919 – 12 June 2000) was a Marathi writer from Maharashtra, India. He was popularly known by his initials पु. ल. (“Pu. La.”) or as P. L. Deshpande. Deshpande was also an accomplished film and stage actor, music composer, harmonium player, singer, and orator.

Lal Krishna Advani (born on 8 November 1927, at Karachi) known as L.K Advani is a Veteran Indian politician. A former president of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), which is currently the major opposition party in the Indian Parliament. He also served as a Deputy Prime Minister of India from 2002 to 2004.

Usha Uthup (born November 8, 1947) is a popular Indian pop, jazz and playback singer. She is well known for popular hits in the late 1960s, 1970s and 1980s. Usha was born in Mumbai, in a Tamil Brahmin family that hailed from Tamil Nadu, in Madras (now Chennai) in 1947. When she was in school she was thrown out of music class because she didn’t fit in with a voice like hers.

Sagarika Ghose ( born 8 November 1964) is an Indian journalist, news anchor and author. Ghose received her bachelor’s degree in History from St. Stephen’s College, Delhi. A recipient of the Rhodes Scholarship, she has a Bachelor’s in Modern History from Magdalen College and an M.Phil. from St Antony’s College, Oxford.

Gopinathan Velayudhan Nair, popularly known as Bharath Gopi (Malayalam: ഭരത് ഗോപി; 8 November 1937 – 29 January 2008) was an Indian film actor, producer, and director. He was one of the first actors to be associated with the New Wave cinema movement in Kerala. He has won many awards, including the National Film Award for Best Actor for his role as Sankarankutty in Kodiyettam (1977).

Salim Nuruddin Jahangir (full title: Al-Sultan al-‘Azam wal Khaqan al-Mukarram, Khushru-i-Giti Panah, Abu’l-Fath Nur-ud-din Muhammad Jahangir Padshah Ghazi [Jannat-Makaani]) (20 September 1569 – 8 November 1627) was the ruler of the Mughal Empire from 1605 until his death.

Wilfred Ruprecht Bion DSO (8 September 1897 – 8 November 1979) was an influential British psychoanalyst, who became president of the British Psychoanalytical Society from 1962 to 1965. Bion has been twinned with Jacques Lacan as “inspired bizarre analysts…who demand not that their patients get better but that they pursue Truth”.

Jaun Elia (December 14, 1931 – November 8, 2002) was a notable Pakistani Urdu poet, philosopher, biographer, and scholar. He was the brother of renowned journalist and psychoanalyst Rais Amrohvi and journalist and philosopher Syed Muhammad Taqi, and husband of columnist Zahida Hina. He was fluent in Arabic, English, Persian, Sanskrit and Hebrew.

Amanchi Venkata Subrahmanyam (Telugu: ఆమ౦చి వె౦కట సుబ్రమణ్య౦) is a journalist, actor, comedian, producer and director. He was born in 1957 January, 2nd at Tenali town, Guntur District, Andhra Pradesh. He was introduced to the film industry by director Bapu through his film ‘Mister Pellam’ in the year 1993. With his first film Mr.Pellam, he became a comedy star in Telugu film.

Maharaja Sir Rajinder Singh, GCSI (Punjabi: ਰਾਜਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ; 25 May 1872-8 November 1900) was Maharaja of the princely state of Patiala from 1876 to 1900, when he died following a riding accident. For his bravery in 1897, he was awarded the Grand Cross of the Star of India by the colonial government.

1960: Subroto Mukherjee died while having dinner in Tokyo, where he had gone with the Air                   India International Airlines which made its first inaugural flight to the city of Tokyo, Japan.
