  • Sanjeev Kumar ( संजीव कुमार; 9 July 1938 – 6 November 1985) was one of the most prominent Indian actors in Bollywood. Sanjeev Kumar was born as Haribhai Jariwala in Gujarat to a Gujarati family. His first home was in Surat and family based in Mumbai. A stint in the film school took him to Bollywood, where he eventually became a movie star.
  • Sangeeta Bijlani (born 9 July 1960) is an Indian Bollywood actress and former model. Bijlani was the Miss India winner in 1980. After winning the Miss India title, she kept herself busy in modelling and did a couple of commercials for brands like Vicco Turmeric cream and Nirma detergent. During the late 80s she signed on for films. J.P Dutta’s Hathyar was the first film she signed .
  • Vasanth Kumar Shivashankar Padukone (9 July 1925 – 10 October 1964), popularly known as Guru Dutt (Konkani:गुरु दत्त), was an Indian film director, producer and actor. He is often credited with ushering in the golden era of Hindi cinema. He made quint essential 1950s and 1960s classics such as Pyaasa (Thirsty), Kaagaz Ke Phool (Paper Flowers), Sahib Bibi Aur Ghulam.
  • Romit Raaj or Romit Raj (born 9 July 1980) is an Indian actor who appears in the Zee TV serials Ghar Ki Lakshmi Betiyann (as Yuvraj Garodia) and Maayka (as Jeet Khuraana). He also acted in Humdum which was released in 11 February 2005 as Siddhant Dey, and Yatra as Joglekar’s son which was released in 4 May 2007. Currently he is essaying the role of Varun in the Indian courtroom drama Adaalat.
  • Uppaluri Gopala Krishnamurti (July 9, 1918 – March 22, 2007), known as U.G. Krishnamurti, was an Indian thinker who said that there is no “enlightenment”. Although necessary for day to day functioning of the individual, in terms of the Ultimate Reality or Truth he rejected the very basis of thought and in doing so negated all systems of thought and knowledge in reference to It.

  • Rafiq Zakaria (April 5, 1920, Nala Sopara — July 9, 2005, Mumbai) was an Indian politician and Islamic scholar. He was closely associated with the Indian independence movement and the Indian National Congress party. He is known for construction of irrigation and power schemes in Maharashtra in the 1970s and association with educational institutions.
  • C. Ramaswamy Mudaliar (1905 – July 9, 1997), also known simply as C. Ramaswamy, was an Indian businessman, politician and Member of Lok Sabha from Kumbakonam. C. Ramaswamy Mudaliar was a businessman, social worker and politician. He studied in Government College, Kumbakonam and graduated from Madras Law College.
  • Karim Emami (26 May 1930, Calcutta, India – 9 July 2005, Tehran, Iran) was a highly regarded Iranian translator, editor, lexicographer, and literary critic. Emami was born in 1930 in Calcutta, a frequent destination of his father, a tea merchant. He learned his first English words from his father and returned to Shiraz in Iran when he was two years old.
