‘One Gram Panchayat-One DIGI-Pay Sakhi’

‘एक ग्राम पंचायत–एक डिजी–पे सखी’

In order to promote door to door digital banking and financial services in remote areas of the UT, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha recently launched Mission ‘One Gram Panchayat-One DIGI-Pay Sakhi’ in the UT.
केंद्र शासित प्रदेश के दूरदराज के इलाकों में डोर टू डोर डिजिटल बैंकिंग और वित्तीय सेवाओं को बढ़ावा देने के लिए, उपराज्यपाल मनोज सिन्हा ने हाल ही में यूटी में मिशन ‘वन ग्राम पंचायत-वन डिजी-पे सखी’ लॉन्च किया।
Digi pay Sakhi is term used for engagement of SHG members as banking point under their Digi pay application where a SHG Member can do basic banking transactions of all banks using Aadhar Enabled Payment System (AEPS) excluding Account Opening.
डिजी पे सखी शब्द का उपयोग एसएचजी सदस्यों को उनके डिजी पे आवेदन के तहत बैंकिंग बिंदु के रूप में शामिल करने के लिए किया जाता है, जहां एक एसएचजी सदस्य खाता खोलने को छोड़कर आधार सक्षम भुगतान प्रणाली (एईपीएस) का उपयोग करके सभी बैंकों के बुनियादी बैंकिंग लेनदेन कर सकता है।
Initially, the DIGI-Pay facility will be provided in 2000 remote villages of the UT and in the first phase, 80 women from Self Help Groups from across the Jammu and Kashmir Division have been selected as DIGI-Pay Sakhis.

On the occasion, the Lietenant Governor distributed 80 Aadhaar Enabled Payment Systems (AEPs) among the DIGI-Pay Sakhis under JKRLM.

JKRLM aims to reduce poverty in J&K by building strong grassroots institutions of the poor, engage them into gainful livelihoods interventions and ensure appreciable improvement in their income on a sustainable basis.

He also inaugurated a week-long training program for Krishi Sakhis and Pashu Sakhis on sustainable agriculture and livestock management.

These three new initiatives of Digi-Pay, Krishi, and Pashu Sakhi, besides several other programs of women empowerment such as Hausla, Tejaswini, UMEED, Rise Together will further accelerate efforts of J-K government in empowering women and making them key partner in UT’s development journey.

DIGI-Pay Sakhi has introduced financial inclusion within the UT’s Self Help Group (SHG) ecosystem, creating much needed financial access points with greater transparency even in the remotest of the areas.

Apart from depositing money, the village population can also avail the benefits of the additional banking and financial services such as Pradhan Mantri Kisan Maandhan Yojana, registration of Kisan Credit Card etc.

The initiatives like Krishi Sakhi and Pashu Sakhi will go a long way in empowering our women in agriculture and the allied sector.
कृषि सखी और पाशु सखी जैसी पहल कृषि और संबद्ध क्षेत्र में हमारी महिलाओं को सशक्त बनाने में एक लंबा सफर तय करेगी।
The Lt Governor also announced that a first of its kind, Women Industrial Estate will come up at Udhampur Industrial Estate, further strengthening the Women Entrepreneurs Ecosystem in J&K.

With increasing female literacy rate; providing access to quality education; encouraging more and more women to become entrepreneurs, and providing financial support for the upliftment of women, J&K is leading by an example in terms of women empowerment.
