(Set – 41)

PUZZLE—1

Six persons, A, B, C, D, H and G, form a human pyramid, which has three levels. The first level consists
of three persons who are standing on the ground; the second level consists of two persons
who are standing on the shoulders of the three persons at the first level; the third level consists of
one person Who is standing on the shoulders of the two persons at the second level. Further at
each level every person supports an equal weight and all the persons at a particular level together
support the total weight of all the people on all the levels above them. The weights of the six persons
are 50 kg, 60 kg, 70 kg, 80 kg, 90 kg and 100 kg, not necessarily in the same order. The following
information is known about the persons at each level of the pyramid:
1. A supports the same weight as B, which is not the same as the weight supported by C.
2. No one is standing on H but he does not weigh the least.
3. D, who weighs the most is not at the same level as C, while B weighs more than each of H and G
4. C weighs less than G and the weight of G is the average of the weights of A and B
5. Every person at the first level supports a weight of 70 kg.

PUZZLE—2:-

Five persons —A, B, C, D and E — had a certain number of books with them. The number of books
with each of them was a distinct prime number less than 25 but the sum of the number of books
with no two persons was a prime number. Further, the total number of books with the five of them
was an even number. It is known that B had more than double the number of books that C had,
while D had less than one-third the number of books that E had. Further, the number of books with
A was less than that with B, while D had more number of books than C.
