Gujarat has ranked at the top with a 50.1 score among the larger states while Goa is at the top position among the smaller states in State Energy and Climate Index.

State Energy and Climate Index aim at ranking the states and the Union Territories on six parameters including energy efficiency, Discom’s performance, and environmental sustainability.

The State Energy & Climate Index (SECI) Round I ranks the states’ performance on 6 parameters, namely, (1) DISCOM’s Performance (2) Access, Affordability and Reliability of Energy (3) Clean Energy Initiatives (4) Energy Efficiency (5) Environmental Sustainability; and (6) New Initiatives.
स्टेट एनर्जी एंड क्लाइमेट इंडेक्स (एसईसीआई) राउंड I 6 मापदंडों पर राज्यों के प्रदर्शन को रैंक करता है, अर्थात् (1) DISCOM का प्रदर्शन (2) पहुंच, सामर्थ्य और ऊर्जा की विश्वसनीयता (3) स्वच्छ ऊर्जा पहल (4) ऊर्जा दक्षता (5 ) पर्यावरणीय स्थिरता; और (6) नई पहल।
The parameters are further divided into 27 indicators. Based on the composite SECI Round I score, the states and UTs are categorized into three groups: Front Runners, Achievers, and Aspirants.
