- Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board becomes the first place of worship in the UT of Jammu and Kashmir to get food safety license as part of BHOG mandated by FSSAI.
- Blissful Hygienic Offering to God (BHOG), which aims at maintaining food safety and hygiene at worship places, mandated by the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI).
- The food safety department has started implementing BHOG to ensure that safe and wholesome Parsad / food is received by the devotees along with the blessing of Goddess in and around Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine.
- The officials of the food safety department carried out pre and post audits as a part of an initiative to issue BHOG certification.
- As part of the pre and post audit, inspections were carried out at various catering outlets of Shrine Board, langar kitchens and halls En-route track to Holy Shrine.
- The facilities and processes adopted during audits at various locations of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board were found to be good by and large on the basis of which BHOG was issued by the FSSAl.
- Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAl) is an autonomous statutory body established under the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006 (FSS Act).
India’s Frist Cable Stayed Railway Bridge
- Railways shared pictures of under-construction India’s first-ever cable-stayed rail bridge, at the upcoming Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla railway link in Jammu and Kashmir.
- Cable stayed Bridge is the one in which the weight of the deck is supported by a number of cables running directly to one or more towers.
- Anji Khad Bridge is built over the Anji river which is part of Katra-Reasi section at the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla route.
- The USBRL (Udhampur Srinagar Baramulla Rail Link) is a National project undertaken by the Indian Railways for construction of broad-gauge railway line through the Himalayas with the aim of connecting the Kashmir region with the rest of the country.
- The all-weather, comfortable, convenient and cost effective mass transportation system will be the catalyst for the overall development of the northern-most alpine region of the country.
Jerri Hamlet Declared as ‘Milk Village’ in J&K
- The Jammu and Kashmir administration has declared Jerri settlement in Reasi district as the first ‘milk village’ of the Union Territory.
- The village, which houses 73 individual dairy units with 370 cows, will give the local farmers financial security.
- The UT administration has also sanctioned 57 additional dairy farms under the Integrated Dairy Development Scheme (IDDS) for the hamlet.
- Under the IDDS, dairy units of five animals are provided with a 50 per cent subsidy.
Saksham Scheme
- Jammu & Kashmir becomes the first UT to provide relief for Covid victims’ families under ‘Saksham’ scheme.
- In 2021, The Administrative Council (AC) of J&K had approved the grant of financial relief through the Special Assistance Scheme for Covid Moralities (SASCM/Saksham) to the families of Covid victims.
- The scheme aims to ensure the sustenance of families who have lost their sole breadwinner.
- Under the new scheme Saksham, the surviving spouse, and one eldest surviving member of affected families will receive a special monthly pension of Rs. 1000 through direct bank transfer (DBT), provided that they are not otherwise receiving any pension under other schemes.
- Additionally, the scheme will also provide special scholarships to children who lost their earning parent(s)/ sibling(s)/ guardian(s) to Covid.
