- Deepak Tijori (born 28 August 1961), is an Indian director and former actor who has acted in Bollywood. Tijori started his acting career with a small role in Krodh (1990). He became a famed supporting actor of Bollywood during the early 1990s and acted in many superhit movies including Aashiqui (1990), Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar (1992), Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa (1993), Anjaam (1994) and Baadshah (1999).
- Priya Dutt Roncon (born 28 August 1966) is an Indian politician. She was first time elected to the 14th Lok Sabha from Mumbai North West constituency in Maharashtra on 22 November 2005, representing the Indian National Congress party. She is currently representing Mumbai North Central constituency in the 15th Lok Sabha since 2009. Dutt is the daughter of the late Bollywood actor and politician Sunil Dutt And Nargis.
- Subir Raha (28 August 1948 – 1 February 2010) a former Director (HR) of Indian Oil Corporation and ex chairman and MD of Oil and Natural Gas Corporation received global recognition as Energy Executive of the year 2005, from the Petroleum Economist, London,in September 2006. Born on August 28, 1948, Raha graduated in Electronics & Telecommunications Engineering.
- Captain Anuj Nayyar (August 28, 1975 – July 7, 1999) was an officer of the 17 Jat Regiment of the Indian Army, who was posthumously awarded the Maha Vir Chakra, India’s second highest gallantry award, for exemplary valour in combat during operations in the Kargil War in 1999. He was born to a Punjabi Khatri family and grew up in Delhi, India.

- Shibram Chakrabarty (13 December 1903–28 August 1980) was a popular Bengali writer, humorist and revolutionary who is best known for his humorous stories. His best known short stories and novels are renowned for their unique use of pun, alliteration, play of words and ironic humor. He was a prolific author who also wrote poems, plays, non-fiction and novels .
- Nyapathi Madhava Rao CIE (b. June 8, 1887 – d. August 28, 1972) was an Indian civil servant and administrator who served as the DIwan of the Mysore kingdom from 1941 to 1945. Madhava Rao was born in Masulipatnam to Nyapathi Venkatakrishna Rao on June 8, 1887. His ancestors were originally Deshastha Brahmins from Maharashtra who had settled in the Telugu country.
- D.V. Narasaraju or Datla Venkata Narasaraju (July 15, 1920 – August 28, 2006) was a writer and director of South India films and playwright. He has written stories such as Gundamma Katha, Yamagola, and Donga Ramudu. Narasa Raju was highly motivated by M. N. Roy and his party-free politics. Narasa Raju debuted in films as a writer with the film Peddamanushulu in 1954.
