9 to 5
- Standard working hours
- Often used in a negative way
- As it means you are engaged in mundane and monotonous work
- My brother has taken a 9 to 5 job with KPMG. Hope he enjoys his job as much as he loved his college
Full-time job
Features:
- 5 days working
- 8 hours per day- 40-44 hours per week
- Full time engagement with a firm
Important fact:
- In France full time work- 35 hours (7 hours for 5 days)
Part-time job
- Mostly for students (rather perfect for students)
- Fewer hours of work per week
Starting and leaving time
- 10:00- 7:00 PM
- I reach my work place by 10:00 in the morning and I wind up by 7:00 in the evening
- Or I head home by 7:00 PM post the completion of responsibilities for the day
Time sheet
- A record of hours
- Usually, now it has been automated
Sabbatical
- When you take a BREAK from WORK
- I was on a sabbatical to complete my PhD thesis. I’m fortunate to be back with the same organization
overtime
- It shows that you are hard working
- Sometimes done to impress your boss
- Also displays love for work
Time off in lieu/ compensatory off
- Comp off for the extra time
