Sir Ganga Ram KCSI (April 1851 – July 10, 1927) was an eminent civil engineer born in Mangtanwala, a small village of Punjab Province in British India now in Punjab, Pakistan and educated at the Thomason College of Civil Engineering (now known as the Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee) 1873 batch. He was a leading philanthropist and agriculturist of his times.
Abdul Ghafoor (1918 – July 10, 2004) was chief minister of the Indian state of Bihar from July 1973 to April 1975. and served as cabinet minister in Rajeev Gandhi’s ministry. He was born in a small village of Gopalganj district, Sareya Akhteryar, in a humble farm family. Having completed his initial education from the district, he moved to Patna and subsequently to Aligarh for higher education.
Kushalnagar Krishnaswamy Srinivasan (20 March 1925 – 10 July 2009) known as K. K. Srinivasan was an Indian radar officer who founded a pre-school for deaf children. Madras Presidency College, Madras KKS – fondly called ‘Cakes’ by his close friends—had three colourful college years (1942–45), enrolled in the Physics (Honors) graduate programme of The Presidency College, Chennai.
