DHOLERA SPECIAL INVESTMENT REGION
- The Dholera Special Investment Region is one of the several greenfield cities that have been planned on the Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC).
GREENFIELD
DELHI MUMBAI INDUSTRIAL CORRIDOR
- It is one of the world’s largest infrastructure projects with an estimated investment of US$90 billion and is planned as a high-tech industrial zone spread across six states, as well as Delhi, the national capital and itself a Union Territory.
- The investments will be spread across the 1,500 km long Western Dedicated Freight Corridor which will serve as the industrial corridor’s transportation backbone.

DHOLERA, SPECIAL INVESTMENT REGION
INFORMATION
- The Dholera Special Investment Region is one of the several greenfield cities that have been planned on the Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC).
- Located about 100 kilometres south-west of Ahmedabad, Dholera will be connected to the city by a six-lane Expressway with a metro-rail running through its centre. A greenfield international airport is also being developed in the vicinity of the SIR which will unburden the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International airport of some of its traffic.
DELHI MUMBAI EXPRESSWAY
- The Delhi–Mumbai Expressway is an underconstruction 1,250 km long controlled-access highway connecting the national capital Delhi with India’s commercial capital Mumbai.

EXPRESSWAY
- This under construction expressway will be a 12-lane (6 lanes in each direction) greenfieldalignment route in backward areas, which will reduce the current 24 hours travel time to mere 12 hours. It is expected to be completed by 2022
FIRST GREEN CITY IN THE WORLD
- NITI Aayog CEO Amitabh Kant said that Dholera SIR in Gujarat should “become the first green city in the world” where either Bharat Stage 6 (BS6) certified vehicles or electric vehicles would ply.

- At Dholera, EV (Electric Vehicles) charging stations are being planned at every one kilometre. Dholera should allow only electric vehicles to be registered. Register EVs with zero registration fee and zero road tax.
THE PROJECTIONS
- The Dholera SIR entails development of total 9225 hectares of land up to 2040 and will employ an estimated 8 lakh persons and will house 20 lakh inhabitants.
- The dream project of Mr. Modi, Dholera SIR Project took birth long before he became the Prime Minister of India.
KALPASAR PROJECT
- The Kalpasar Project envisages building a 30 km dam across the Gulf of Khambat in India for establishing a huge fresh water coastal reservoir for irrigation, drinking and industrial purposes.
