Sardarilal Mathradas Nanda (10 October 1915 – 11 May 2009) was an Indian Navy admiral who served as the 8th Chief of the Naval Staff from 1 March 1970 until 28 February 1973. He led the Indian Navy during the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971 and successfully executed a naval blockade of both West and East Pakistan, helping India achieve an overwhelming victory during the war.

Salur Rajeswara Rao  (10 October 1922 – 25 October 1999) was a composer of musical scores for South Indian films for over half a century. He also sang, and played the harmonium. He was born in the village of Sivaramapuram, near Salur in Vizianagaram district (formerly Srikakulam district), Andhra Pradesh, India.

Siddharth Malhotra is well-known Indian model. He born in Surat,Gujarat,India on December 31, 1987. His family moved to Mumbai,Maharastra when he was 8 years old child. He is the only child of his parents. He belongs to an educated family. His father Rajeev Malhotra is a doctor and his mother Leena Malhotra is a school principal. From his school days, Siddharth was interested in acting.

Ashoke Kumar Sen (10 October 1913 – 31 August 1996) was an Indian barrister, a former Cabinet minister of India, and an Indian parliamentarian. He also holds the record for winning a Lok Sabha seat the most times and also the record for being not only an MP for the most years, but also a cabinet minister – serving more than 7 prime ministers.

Kota Shivaram Karanth (October 10, 1902 – December 9, 1997) was a major Kannada writer, social activist, environmentalist, Yakshagana artist, film maker and thinker. He was described as the “Rabindranath Tagore of Modern India who has been one of the finest novelists-activists since independence” by Ramachandra Guha.

Jagjit Singh, born Jagmohan Singh (8 February 1941 – 10 October 2011), was a prominent Indian Ghazal singer, songwriter and musician. Known as the “Ghazal King”, he gained acclaim together with his wife, another renowned Indian ghazal singer Chitra Singh in the 1970s and 1980s.

Vasanth Kumar Shivashankar Padukone (9 July 1925 – 10 October 1964), popularly known as Guru Dutt  was an Indian film director, producer and actor. He is often credited with ushering in the golden era of Hindi cinema. He made quintessential 1950s and 1960s classics such as Pyaasa (Thirsty), Kaagaz Ke Phool (Paper Flowers), Sahib Bibi Aur Ghulam.

Bharat Bhushan (1920–1992) was an Indian bollywood actor, scriptwriter and producer, who is best remembered for playing Baiju Bawra in the 1952 film of the same name. He was born in Meerut, and brought up in Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh. Bharat Bhushan was born in 14 June 1920 Meerat, Uttar Pradesh. His father, Raibahadur Motilal, was the government pleader of Meerut.

Kumar Valavhadas Pallana (born 23 December 1918) is an Indian character actor and vaudevillian. He performed on the Mickey Mouse Club as a plate spinner and juggler. Pallana owned a coffee shop, Cosmic Cup (now Cosmic Cafe), in Dallas, Texas where Wes Anderson and Owen Wilson frequented. Anderson cast Pallana in Bottle Rocket, Rushmore, The Royal Tenenbaums, and The Darjeeling Limited.

Lalit Suri (15 April 1947 – 10 October 2006) was an Indian hotelier and a member of the Rajya Sabha (the Upper House of India’s Parliament). Born on 15 April 1947 in Rawalpindi (Pakistan), Lalit Suri was elected to the Rajya Sabha as an Independent from Uttar Pradesh in 2002.

10-October-1756  Clive sailed from Madras, to capture Calcutta, with a large naval fleet consisting of 900 European and 1500 Indian soldiers along with 5 battle ships, and 5 other vessels.

10-October-1952 US mediator Frank Graham told the U.N. Security Council that there was a possibility of war between India and Pakistan over Kashmir.
