- At 104, there is no way stopping Man Kaur, an Indian splinter, who recently added another feather to her cap by winning a gold at the World Masters Athletics in the 200m event.
- Kaur derives her inspiration from her son Gurdev Singh, also an athlete, who assists his mother in her athletic pursuits. Gurudev too has been a participant of the World Masters Game, which is considered Olympic for senior citizens

- At the World Masters Games in 2017, Kaur was the only athlete to compete in the 100. She is very dedicated and wakes up every morning at 6 am for training. She runs 20 kms everyday. She also trains in the gym.
- Kaur is the oldest person in the world to walk along the top of Auckland’s Sky Tower. Kaur has also won medals in Javelin throw and Shotput. She has won more than 20 medals in the Masters Games all across the globe and has her eyes on a gold medal at the 2020 Masters Game in Japan.

- President Ram Nath Kovind gave away the Nari Shakti Puraskar 2019 awards to Man Kaur at an event at the Rashtrapati Bhavan here in New Delhi on Sunday.
- Besides Mann Kaur, a woman mason, Jharkhand’s lady Tarzan and a “mushroom mahila” a were given the award.
- The government confers the Nari Shakti Puraskar every year to recognise the relentless service of women towards the cause of women empowerment and social welfare.
