Tellapur Gram Panchayat tops in Mission Antyodaya baseline survey-2017
Tellapur gram panchayat in Sangareddy district has set an example for other villages in maintaining hygiene, achieving economic development, creating livelihood, women
empowerment and providing infrastructure.
The gram panchayat located on the suburbs of the State capital in Ramachandrapuram mandal has scored 92 marks out of 100 in Mission Antyodaya Baseline Survey-2017, which was carried out by the Union Ministry of Rural Development.

Sammakka-Saralamma jatara

The four-day mega tribal festival, ‘Sammakka Saralamma Maha Jathara’ or ‘Medaram
Jathara’, was celebrated in Jayashankar Bhupalpally district of Telangana.
the festival, held every two years at Medaram village in Tadvai mandal, deep inside forests,
is the largest tribal religious gathering in the world.
tribal devotees offer obeisance to goddesses Sammakka and her daughter Saralamma. As
per the folklore, the festival commemorates the fight of Sammakka and Saralamma against
the oppression of Kakatiya rulers.
The fourth day of the Jatara it is the day of the Sammakka and SArakka to return back to
the forest “Vanapravesham”. It marks the conclusion of the 4- day Medaram Jatara.
The next visit of the Sammakka and Sarakka is in 2020. On 2nd January 2018, the government of Telangana formed, Telangana State Minorities Commission.
The State Government issued orders appointing Mohammed Qamaruddin as the chairman of Telangana State Minorities Commission.
The term of the Chairman, Vice-Chairman and members of the Commission will be for a period of three years from the date of taking over charge.
