Vikram Ambalal Sarabhai (12 August 1919 – 31 December 1971) was an Indian physicist. He is considered to be the father of the Indian space program. Vikram Ambalal Sarabhai was born on 12 August 1919 in the city of Ahmedabad, in the state of Gujarat in western India.

General Muhammad Zia-ul-Haq (August 12, 1924 – August 17, 1988), was the fourth Chief martial law administrator and the sixth President of Pakistan from September 1978 to his death in August 1988.

Wing Commander Guy Penrose Gibson VC DSO (bar) DFC (bar), RAF (12 August 1918 – 19 September 1944), was the first CO of the Royal Air Force’s 617 Squadron, which he led in the “Dam Busters” raid (Operation Chastise) in 1943, resulting in the destruction of two large dams in the Ruhr area.

Teji Bachchan (12 August 1914 – 21 December 2007) was social activist who became a confidant of Prime Minister Indira Gandhi; as well as being the wife of Hindi literary poet Harivansh Rai Bachchan and mother of Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan.

Unni Menon is an Indian film playback singer. He has sung over 3000 songs in South Indian languages like Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu and Kannada. In the early part of his career, he spent many years as a low-profile playback singer.

Gulshan Kumar (5 May 1956 – 12 August 1997) was the founder of the T-Series music label (Super Cassettes Industries Ltd.), and an Indian Bollywood movie producer. T series is now run by his son Bhushan Kumar. His daughter Tulsi Kumar is a playback singer.

Avichi Meiyappa Chettiar (28 July 1907 – 12 August 1979), also known as A. V. Meiyappan or AVM was an Indian film producer, director and philanthropist who established the AVM Productions in Vadapalani, Chennai.

Lieutenant-General Sir Harry Burnett “Joe” Lumsden (12 November 1821 – 12 August 1896) was a British military officer active in India. Lumsden was born aboard the East India Company’s ship Rose in the Bay of Bengal, the son of a British Army Colonel Thomas Lumsden, C.B.

Brigadier Mirza Hamid Hussain (4 July 1914 – 12 August 1987) was a Pakistan army officer, diplomat and an intelligence officer. Hussain was born in 1914 at Delhi. He was educated at Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh and the ‘Prince of Wales’ Royal Military College RIMC, Dehra Dun.

Eric Archibald McNair VC (16 June 1894 – 12 August 1918) was a recipient of the Victoria Cross, the highest and most prestigious award for gallantry in the face of the enemy that can be awarded to British and Commonwealth forces.
