The Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) is going to get a new district – Tamulpur soon.
It has been proposed in the Assam state finance 2021-22.
Tamulpur was a sub-division of Baksa district under the BTC.
The News
The demand for Tamulpur had been going on for long time and keeping in mind the greater interests of the local people, Tamulpur would be made a new district.
Govt of Assam has said that, the creation of the new district of Tamulpur will further improve economic activity and aid in better administrative control of the region.

Morigaon
Bongaingaon
Tamulpur
Apart from Medical college, Tamulpur will get a new bridge over the Pagladia, a government college with Science, Arts and Commerce streams and a sports stadium.
Now, the BTC will have five districts – Kokrajhar, Chirang, Udalguri, Baksa & Tamulpur
