The News
- Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the formation of independent trust tasked for building Ram Temple in a speech he made in Lok Sabha.
- The government of India on February 5,2020 issued gazette notification over setting up the trust, “Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra”

Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra
- The Supreme Court directed the Centre to formulate within three
- months a scheme to set up a “Trust with a Board of Trustees or any other appropriate body” under The Acquisition of
- Certain Area at Ayodhya Act, 1993, with powers “including the construction of a temple”.
- The Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra, the newly-created trust for the construction of a Ram temple in Ayodhya, will have its office in Delhi.
- This Trust will get the possession of the inner and outer courtyards along with the rest of the acquired land
Land for Masjid
- As directed by the Supreme Court, the Uttar Pradesh government has issued the allotment letter of a five-acre plot to the Sunni Central Waqf Board for construction of a
- The land is in Dhannipur village on the Lucknow highway, about 25 kilometres from the Ram Janmbhoomi complex (erstwhile disputed site)
Ram Janmabhoomi Nyas
- The Nyas is an organisation formed on January 25, 1993 as a trust to promote and oversee the construction of a temple at the Ram Janmabhoomi, in Ayodhya.
- The Nyas was formed by members of the Vishva Hindu
- RJN has been actively pursuing construction work for temple,few km from the ‘disputed site’, for about 3 decades.
- VHP raised 8 crore rupees for construction activity.
- The RJN operates workshops in Karsevakpuram (City of Volunteers)

The New Trust and members
- The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teertha Kshetra trust will have 15 members:-
- 9 permanent members
- 6 nominated members
- Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra is registered at the South Delhi residence of Parasaran, senior advocate who represented the Hindu parties in the case.
- One member will always be a ‘Dalit’

- Jagatguru Shankaracharya Swami Vasudevanand, Prayagraj
- Jagatguru Madhavarcharya Swami Vishwa Prasannatheerth, Udupi

Civilians:
- Vimlendu Mohan Pratap Mishra – a descendant of Ayodhya royal family

Nominated members:
- The temple trust will select two prominent persons by majority resolution to be part of the trust
- One representative to be nominated by the central government, an IAS of at least of joint secretary level.
- One representative to be nominated by state government and would be a IAS under the state government
- District Magistrate, Ayodhya will be the ex-officio trustee.
- The chairman for the administration development of Ram Temple complex will also be selected by the trust board.
Note –
- All nominated members will have to be practicing Hindus.
- If serving DM is not a Hindu than additional magistrate will sit on the board.
Foundation laying on Ram Navmi ?
- The Vishva Hindu Parishad is planning a grand 15-day Ram Utsav in India and abroad.
- It will be organised around Ram Navmi (2nd April 2020)
- The festival marks the celebration of the Ayodhya king’s birth.
- The foundation stone ‘may’ be laid during that time.
