NITI Aayog

• NITI Aayog will release comprehensive roadmaps and detailed timelines for its initiative ‘Sustainable Action for Transforming Human Capital in Education (SATH-E)’ project
• SATHE to introduce System-wide Governance Transformation in School Education
• These roadmaps, which operate between 2018 to 2020, lay out detailed interventions which will taken by the three participating States- Jharkand, Madhya Pradesh and Odisha –aiming to become ‘Role Model States’ in school education.
NITI Aayog-
• These roadmaps present the first-of-its-kind, customized, action-oriented programmes, outlining interventions at the individual, district and State level.
• The roadmaps were jointly prepared by NITI Aayog, the three States and the knowledge partners of the SATH Initiatives, the Boston Consulting Group (BCG) and Piramal Foundation For Education Leadership (PFEL).

PMO –

• Prime Minister Narendra Modi exhorted scientists to extend their research from “the labs to the land“.
• For the greater benefit of people.
• Time was ripe to redefine ‘R&D’ as research for development of the nation.
• 105th Indian Science Congress at Manipur University, Imphal.
PMO-
• Scientific social responsibility is need of the hour.
• Mr Modi called upon the scientists to develop a mechanism for interaction with school children. 100 hours every year with 100 students of classes 10th, 11th and 12th, discussing various aspects of science and technology.

Rising India Summit

• Government has succeeded in taking bold steps and executed them due to the support and inspiration of the citizens.
• There has been tremendous support to its efforts to curb black money and fight against corruption.
• Mr Modi said, at present, the citizens lead and the government follows.
• The Prime Minister said, in his opinion, rising India means soaring the confidence of 125 crore people of the country.

• The three-day annual Krishi Unnati Mela began in New Delhi.
• Focus : doubling farmers’ income
•Objective : create awareness among farmers about the latest agriculture-related technological developments.
• Radha Mohan Singh said, government is committed to the welfare of farmers and strengthening the rural livelihood.

Krishi Unnati Mela

• The three-day annual Krishi Unnati Mela began in New Delhi.
• Focus : doubling farmers’ income
•Objective : create awareness among farmers about the latest agriculture-related technological developments.
• Radha Mohan Singh said, government is committed to  the welfare of farmers and strengthening the rural livelihood.

Vice President on Farming

1. Diversification of farm activities towards high-value crops and enterprises.
2. Improving irrigation facilities to double productivity.
3. Better price realization for farmers through competitive markets, value chains and improved linkage between field and fork.
4. Improvement in the terms of trade for agriculture.
5. Technology up gradation.
6. Shifting cultivators from farming to non-farm occupations.

Ministry of Women and Child Development

• Pradhan Mantri Matru VandanaYojana (PMMVY)
• Every day on an average, around 50, 000 new applications are received for enrolment.
•Number of beneficiaries enrolled : 17,66,423
• So far, Rs. 2048.21 Crores to all 36 States/UTs have been sanctioned under PMMVY out of which Rs. 2042.09 Crores have been released till date.
Ministry of Women and Child Development –
• Eligible beneficiaries get Rs. 5,000/- under PMMVY and the remaining cash incentive as per approved norms towards Maternity Benefit under Janani Suraksha Yojana (JSY) after institutional delivery so that on an average, a woman gets Rs. 6000/-.
• The Scheme Implementation Guidelines, the software for roll out of the Scheme i.e. Pradhan MantriMatruVandanaYojana – Common Application
Software (PMMVY
• The maternity benefits under Pradhan MantriMatruVandanaYojana (PMMVY) are available to all Pregnant Women & Lactating Mothers (PW&LM) except those in regular employment with the Central Government or State Government or Public Sector Undertaking or those who are in receipt of similar benefits under any law for the time being in force, for first living child of the family as normally, the first pregnancy of a woman exposes her to new kind of challenges and stress factors.

• The objectives of the scheme are:
1. Providing partial compensation for the wage loss in terms of cash incentives so that the woman can take adequate rest before and after delivery of the first living child.
2. The cash incentives provided would lead to improved health seeking behaviour amongst the Pregnant Women and Lactating Mothers.

Ministry of Health and Family Welfare

• The scheme Rashtriya Arogya Nidhi (RAN) is under implementation in the country.
• The RAN was set up to provide financial assistance to patients, living below poverty line and who are suffering from major life threatening diseases, to receive medical treatment at any of the super speciality Hospitals/Institutes or other Government hospitals.
• The financial assistance to such patients is released in the form of ‘one-time grant’, which is released to the Medical Superintendent of the Hospital in which the treatment has been/is being received.
Ministry of Health and Family Welfare –
•Under RAN Revolving Funds have been set up in 13 Central Government Hospitals/Institutions located all over India for providing financial assistance for treatment up to Rs. 2 lakh.
•In addition financial assistance is provided for individual cases referred by Government hospitals/institutions, which do not have a Revolving Fund and for cases referred by 13 Government hospitals/institutions with Revolving Funds for assistance exceeding Rs. 2lakh
