PMO

• ‘Youth Power: A vision of New India
• Government is working on mission mode to reform education system in the country.
• India with largest young population needs world class infrastructure in the education sector.
• The Government, he stressed, has focussed on creating 20 world class educational institutions in the country.
• Atal Innovation Mission, he said, is another programme that converts ideas of young minds into innovations
•Government is also working towards creating conducive market for products introduced by young innovative minds.
• Mudra yojana, he added has created self employment to over three crore youths.
•Over one crore youths have benefitted of this programme in Karnataka alone.

Ministry of Human Resource Development

•It has invited suggestions on rationalizing curriculum for class 1 to 12th to ensure all round development of students.
• Minister Prakash Javadekar said, there is an urgent need to rationalize the school curriculum because the objective of the education is to prepare a good human being from the system.
• The suggestions can be submitted till 6th of next month which should be precise and it may be given online in the prescribed format.

Finance Ministry

•India is set to retain its position of a fast growing economy in the coming decades.
•India is looked at as one of the bright spots in the world.
• There is huge scope of investment in human resource sector in the state and called upon the students to go ahead on path of excellence and skill development in career building.

Central Information Commission

• Prime Minister Narendra Modi today said, transparency and accountability are very important for a democratic and participative governance.
• Addressing a gathering after inaugurating a new building of Central Information Commission at Munirka in New Delhi, he said, a transparent system ensures accountability towards the public

दोनों को ही बढ़ाने मेंएक बहोत अहम भूर्मका तनभाती है।”

• The Prime Minister also informed that through PRAGATI, he has reviewed projects worth 9.5 lakh crore rupees.

• Prime Minister launched the CIC Mobile App which will facilitate the people in filing application and complaints besides getting thelatest information about the Commission.

• The Sri Lankan government has declared a state of emergency in the country for seven days following violence against the minority community in Kandy district over the last two days.
• The decision was taken in today’s cabinet meeting.
• The emergency came as a move to prevent violence spreading to other areas.
MEA-
• A government spokesman said they will take strict action against those who tried to incite violence through social media platforms.
• Emergency provisions equip government to take suspects into custody for a longer period and enhanced powers for security forces.
• This is the first time emergency has been imposed in last seven years as Sri Lanka was under emergency for almost threedecades of LTTE war.

Ministry of Commerce & Industry

• Coffee Board has applied for registration of Araku coffee under Geographical Indications to protect the unique identity of the coffee grown by the tribal communiti es of Araku Valley in Visakhapatnam district of Andhra Pradesh.
• The Central Government, through the Coffee Board, ispromoting production of coffee in Araku Valley by implementing the “Integrated Coffee Development Project”.
Ministry of Commerce & Industry –
• The scheme includes extending financial support for replanting and expansion, creation of water harvesting and irrigation infrastructures and mechanisation of coffee estate operations.
•In the non-traditional areas financial support is extended for consolidation of existing coffee plantations through gap filling and application of compost.
• Technical assistance is also provided by organising capacity building programs and field demonstrations.

• TheCoffee Board is facilitating collective marketing of Araku Coffee by providing incentives at Rs. 10 per Kg for SHGs and grower collectives.
• Arabica coffee from the Araku Valley area has gained popularity as a high quality speciality coffee internationally. The Coffee Board has developed exclusive logos for coffee grown in the country based on their geographical distinctiveness.
• Coffee Board encourages the coffee growers to participate in the “Flavour of India-The Fine Cup Award” competition organised by Coffee Board every year.

Ministry of Defence

•Chinese Military Activity in Pakistan
•Government is aware of China’s stated objective of becoming a ‘maritime power’.
•India and China have, on several occasions, reiteratedthat, as large neighbours following independent foreign policies, the relationships pursued by India and China with other countries must not become a source of concern for each other.
Ministry of Defence –
• Under its ‘Neighbourhood First’ policy, Government is committed to developing friendly and mutually beneficial relations with all its neighbours.
• India is an active economic partner of its neighbours and is involved in various development projects in these countries.
• India also has extensive ties with neighbouring countries in education, culture, trade and investments as well as defence and security cooperation.
• India’s relations with other countries stand on their own footing and are independent of the relations of those countries with third countries.
