There are two sections of the post:
Assessment Section-In this section you will be primarily handling all the desk jobs and other works comes from Income Tax Inspector. Your job is the assessment of Income Tax which people or the company is liable to pay, and handling Refund Claims and TDS queries also fall under your job profile.
Non-Assessment Section– In this section you will be required to do fieldwork. You will be the par of rapid response team which usually conducts raids and to find the defaulters. Your desk job will be limited to gathering proper evidence against the defaulters.
Educational Qualifications for ITI–
Candidate must have done graduation in any discipline.
Age limit for applying is 21-27 years. There is a relaxation in upper age limit for OBC, ST, and SC.

Working hours-
Working hours are generally fixed and defined by the departments. The office timing for Government Employees is 9 am to 5 pm. But in certain cases, like conducting raid or search, you may have to work for longer than usual timings.

Cut-Off Marks For ITI-
The SSC CGL marks which are required for Income Tax Inspector may change for different years. The cutoff marks for the 2018 year exam is as follows:
General- 558.75/700
OBC- 544.75/700
SC- 506.25/700
ST- 500.25/700
This is an important parameter to know where you stand. The cutoff for income tax inspector is generally high as compared to the other posts because of their social prestige.
Training for ITI-
Just after the selection process, traning process takes place for around 12 weeks conducted at Direct Taxes Regional Training Institute (DTRTI) in which candidates use to learn about different tax laws, administrative procedures and other skills they have to work on.
