PULWAMA TERROR ATTACK

Following the death of 40 CRPF personnel in Pulwama IED attack that took place on Thursday, various nations expressed grief and sent their condolences, condemning the biggest terror attack Jammu and Kashmir witnessed in a decade.

USA

White House statement from the press secretary said,” The United States condemns in the strongest terms the heinous terrorist attack by a Pakistan based terrorist group that killed over 40 Indian paramilitary forces and wounded at least 44 others. We express our deep condolences to the victims’

FRANCE

“France has always stood and will continue to stand alongside India in the fight against terrorism in all its forms. I call on each state to take effective measures to combat the terrorist networks and their funding channels and to prevent the crossborder movement of terrorist groups such as Jaishe-Muhammad, which has claimed responsibility for this attack”.

RUSSIA

President of Russia – Putin said, “Condolences to President and Prime Minister of India on the terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir Vladimir Putin sent his condolences to President of India Ram Nath Kovind and Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi in connection with the killing of Indian security force personnel in a terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir”.

 IRAN SEEKS ‘REVENGE’

Even as India is preparing a dossier against Pakistan in the wake of Pulwama attack, thousands of Iranians called for “revenge” against Pakistan for allegedly harbouring militants who killed 27 of its Revolutionary Guards in a suicide bombing

“The government of Pakistan must pay the price of harbouring these terrorist groups and this price will undoubtedly be very high,” said Major General Mohammad Ali Jafari, referring to jihadist outfit Jaish al Adl (“Army of Justice”).

“The Islamic Republic of Iran will no longer observe the previous reservations and will directly act to counter such acts,” Jafari told mourners gathered at the city of Isfahan’s Bozorgmehr Square.

WHAT ACTUALLY HAPPENED

Day before the Pulwama attack, a vehicle packed with explosives rammed into a bus carrying Iranian security forces. The suicide bombing killed twenty-seven Revolutionary Guards. Jaish al-Adl claimed the responsibility for the attack. While there is no overt link between Jaish al-Adl and the Jaish-e-Mohammed, which is responsible for the attack in Kashmir, they are both based in Pakistan and are Sunni extremist groups.

Jaish ul-Adl a Salafi Jihadist terrorist organization based in the Sistan and Baluchestan Province of Iran, responsible for several attacks against civilians and military personnel in Iran. Jaish ul-Adl is a designated terrorist organization by Iran, India and Japan
