- The Mega Park will have around 30 units of food processing with an investment of Rs 250 crore.

The Mega Food Park scheme
- Ministry of Food Processing Industries Since 2008.
- Mega Food Park Scheme aims at providing a mechanism to link agricultural production to the market by bringing together farmers, processors and retailers.
- These food parks give a major boost to the food processing sector by adding value and reducing food wastage at each stage of the supply chain with particular focus on perishables.
- The Scheme has a cluster based approach based on a hub and spokes model.

- Standard Design Factories (SDF)
- Basic infrastructure such as roads, power, water, drainage
- Core facilities or core processing infrastructure include Cold Storage, Ripening Chamber, Raw Material Warehouse, Finished Product Warehouse, Silos, Pack House, Quality Control Laboratory etc.
Benefits
- Farmers will get better prices of their agriproducts and their income will also increase.
- MFP will provide processing opportunities to farmers, self-help groups, and micro-entrepreneurs and create more employment opportunities in the surrounding areas.

KINFRA MFP Kerala
- 42 acres of land + Project cost of Rs 102.13 crore.
- The first Mega Park in Kerala is expected to generate business of close to Rs 500 crore per annum.
- It will leverage an additional investment of about Rs250 crore in 25-30 food processing units in the park.
- The park will also provide direct and indirect employment to 5,000 persons
- It will benefit about 25,000 farmers in the CPC and PPC catchment areas
- The government sees food processing as one of the major sectors of ‘AatmaNirbhar Bharat” initiative.
