Lakshya UPPSC PT 2022 – Reports, Indices, Summits Lecture 6- Complete One Year Current Affairs – Free PDF

Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) 2.0

    • Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs (MoHUA) launched 2nd phase of AMRUT till 2025-26.
    • Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) was launched to facilitate ease of living to citizens in 500 cities by providing tap connections and sewer connections .
    • AMRUT 2.0 aims at 100% coverage of water supply to all households in around 4,700 urban local bodies by providing about 68 crore tap connections.
    • 100% coverage of sewerage and septage in 500 AMRUT cities by providing around 64 crore sewers/ septage connections + Adopt the principles of Circular Economy (Generating wealth from waste using 3Rs).
    • Promote conservation and rejuvenation of surface and groundwater.

      SAGE Initiative

      • Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment.
      • Senior care Ageing Growth Engine (SAGE) project.
      • It will select, support and create a “one-stop access” of elderly care products and services by credible start-ups ,for focussing on needs of India’s fast-rising elderly population.
      • Startups can apply for being part of SAGE through SAGE portal MoSJ&E will act as facilitator, enabling elderly to access the products through these identified start-ups.
      • SAGE project is shaped on recommendations of the empowered expert committee (EEC) report on start-ups for elderly.

PM-DAKSH Scheme

  • Recently, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment has launched ‘PMDAKSH’ (Pradhan Mantri Dakshta Aur Kushalta Sampann Hitgrahi) Portal and ‘PM-DAKSH’ Mobile App to make the skill development schemes accessible to the target groups – Backward Classes, Scheduled Castes and SafaiKaramcharis.
  • PM-DAKSH Yojana is being implemented from the year 2020-21.
  • Under this, eligible target groups are provided with the skill development training programmes on Short Term Training Program; Up-Skilling/Reskilling; Entrepreneurship Development Programme, and Long Term Training Programme.
  • It is implemented by the three Corporations under the Ministry: National Scheduled Castes Finance and Development Corporation (NSFDC), National Backward Classes Finance & Development Corporation (NBCFDC), National SafaiKaramcharis Finance and Development Corporation (NSKFDC).

    Shrestha Yojana

  • To be implemented by Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment.
  • Aim is to aid socio-economic upliftment and overall development of the Scheduled Castes students by providing quality residential education in reputed private schools.

Garima Greh

  • Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment.
  • Under the Scheme of Shelter Home for Transgender Persons, Garima Greh: Shelter Home for Transgender Persons’ has been inaugurated, in Vadodara, Gujarat.
  • It includes shelter facility, food, clothing, recreational facilities, skill development opportunities, legal support, technical advice for gender transition and surgeries, etc.

Sugamya Bharat Abhiyan/Accessible India Campaign

  • It is conceptualised by the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (DEPwD) as a nation-wide flagship campaign for achieving universal accessibility.
  • Three pillars of Sugamya Bharat Abhiyan: Built Environment Accessibility, Transportation System Accessibility & Information and Communication Eco-System Accessibility.

NIPUN Bharat Programme

  • Ministry of Education has launched NIPUN (National Initiative for Proficiency in Reading with Understanding and Numeracy) Bharat Scheme.
  • It aims to cover the learning needs of children in the age group of 3 to 9 years .
  • This initiative is being launched as a part of NEP (National Education Policy) 2020.
  • It aims to create an enabling environment to ensure universal acquisition of foundational literacy and numeracy, so that every child achieves the desired learning competencies in reading, writing and numeracy by the end of Grade 3, by 2026-27.
  • It will focus on providing access and retaining children in foundational years of schooling; teacher capacity building; development of high quality and diversified Student and Teacher Resources/Learning Materials; and tracking the progress of each child in achieving learning.

YUVA (Young, Upcoming and Versatile Authors) Scheme

  • Ministry of Education
  • To mentor authors under the age of 30 and train them to promote reading, writing and book culture in the country, and project India and Indian writings globally .
  • Consolidated scholarship of Rs50,000 per month for a period of six months per author will be paid.
  • Part of India@75 Project (Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav).
  • National Book Trust under Ministry of Education is Implementing Agency.

PM Poshan Shakti Nirman Scheme

  • Ministry of HRD, The existing Mid-Day Meal scheme, which provides hot meals to students, has been renamed as the National Scheme for PM Poshan Shakti Nirman.
  • Mid-Day Meal scheme guarantees one meal to all children in government and aided schools and madarsas supported under Samagra Shiksha.
  • Students up to Class VIII are guaranteed one nutritional cooked meal at least 200 days in a year.

It was launched in the year 1995 as the National Programme of Nutritional Support to Primary Education (NP – NSPE), a centrally sponsored scheme. In 2004, the scheme was relaunched as the Mid-Day Meal Scheme.

DIKSHA Platform

  • Ministry of Education.
  • DIKSHA stands for Digital Infrastructure for Knowledge Sharing.
  • It is a National Teacher Platform which is currently being used by teachers and students across the nation to provide school education through distance mode.
  • DIKSHA is 100% free to use, and owned and operated by the Ministry of Education (MoE).

KAPILA

  • Kalam Program for Intellectual Property Literacy and Awareness (KAPILA) Campaign, for creating Intellectual Property Literacy and patent awareness.
  • Objectives: creating awareness regarding Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) in Higher Education Institutions (HEIs); enabling of IP protection of inventions originating from faculty and students of HEIs; development of Credit Course on IPR; training program on IPR for faculty and students of HEIs and sensitization and development of vibrant IP filing system.

SATYAM Programme

  • Ministry of Science and Technology, programme of the Department of Science and Technology, under its Cognitive Science Research Initiative (CSRI).
  • Science and Technology of Yoga and Meditation(SATYAM).
  • Launched in 2015 to strengthen research in the areas of yoga and meditation.
  • Recently Department of Science and Technology (DST) has invited proposals to study appropriate intervention of yoga and meditation in fighting COVID-19 and similar kinds of viruses.

Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovation (CEPI)

  • Innovative global partnership between public, private, philanthropic, and civil society organizations .
  • CEPI is working to accelerate the development of vaccines against emerging infectious diseases .
  • CEPI was launched at 2017 World Economic Forum in Davos
  • CEPI was founded by the governments of Norway and India, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the Wellcome Trust, and the World Economic Forum.
  • Australia, Belgium, Canada, Germany, Japan, Norway, the European Commission as well as the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and the Wellcome Trust are supporting CEPI financially.
  • CEPI’s initial priority pathogens include Middle East respiratory syndrome (MERS), Lassa, Nipah, Chikungunya and Rift Valley Fever.

MANAS App

  • Mental Health and Normalcy Augmentation System.
  • Aim to build a healthier and happier community, to empower it to nurture its innate potential for building a Swasth and Atmanirbhar Bharat.
  • MANAS was endorsed as a national program by the Prime Minister’s Science, Technology, and Innovation Advisory Council (PM-STIAC) to promote wellbeing across age groups
  • It is developed by NIMHANS, Bengaluru, Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC) Pune and CDAC Bengaluru.
  • MANAS was initiated by the Office of the Principal Scientific Advisor to the Government of India
